I'm most concerned about cost of maintenance and petrol consumption which is so much cheaper with scooter. Also; does anyone know what is the average millage when working as a scooter and motorcycle courier? I know it must be a very wide range but what is the minimum that you have to cover to earn for living

Is it?

Get a CBF125 or YBR125, can't get any cheaper.

Ask the other riders at the firm, they know best.

Are you talking about a traditional courier service taking envelopes from one office to another? Or a food delivery service? Or a parcel courier, delivering online shopping from a hub to residential addresses?

For a traditional courier, 200 miles in a full day is fairly normal if you cover the M25 area. If you stay in central London and the City it's more like 80 miles per day. But if you do that you're competing with bicycle couriers and you might earn less than them.

Yes, there was a sunny week at the start of May, which is the last time he asked.

Was told that payment is per drop, is asking about mileage. This will end well.

I ride in and out of London daily and scooters will get through gaps our bigger machines can't and will probably do double the MPG.

All the Deliveroo riders seem to ride scooters too.

and he said "you're hired"

true story Laughing

You only want it to work half the time? Unusual.

Talk to Ubereats, they are paying £20 an hour plus a few quid a drop at the moment. Scooter is enough.

I assume the hours aren't excessive but heavier at lunch/night.

That is correct. Deliveroo is also paying an hourly rate, about £8 and a few quid a drop.
