London - Italy in August

Hi,
It's a pleasure to join this forum, hope to find some good people and useful advice.

As in topic I am planning to ride from London to Madesimo in Italy, then to Sardinia and back. Leaving Friday the 4th of August.
I was wondering if there is someone out there going the same direction that would like to join me.

Hi
Up to Madesimo I will take the fastest route, I am meeting some friends there and start a proper bike trip to the south.
Leaving the 5th of August and coming back 23rd.

also I was wondering if anyone could recommend 'motorcycle friendly, safe to park' hotel near Nancy or Reims

I stayed at the Formule 1 motel in Chaumont (slightly southwest of Nancy)
It was typically Formule 1 (i.e., cheap and cheerful) but both myself (lone elderly female) and the bike (a GSX750) were perfectly safe.

What I hate about Formule 1 is that they rarely have toilets in the rooms, and my bladder invariably requires regular access to the toilet during the night. So yes, pissing in the bin may be a necessity if they put you in a room a long way from the bathrooms.

There is a Tex Mex restaurant (Texan Grill, which is attached to a slightly more expensive hotel (Hotel du Val) a bit further along the road, and it does pretty decent grub. Had a cheese burger and chips in there which was HUGE.
