I'm not talking hotel motel holiday inns, which are an absolute liberty.

I'm looking for something like AirBnB or Craigslist, neither of which are represented in the place I am wanting to stay.

I literally want a twin room, for two nights, at an amount that a sensible British person would enjoy to "borrow" their spare room briefly and not much else.

No towels, napkins or happy endings required...

Anyone know a good place to look?

Maybe Gumtree, it seems to be what the UK uses for all things the US uses Craigslist for.

Or just post on here and stay with a BCFer.

Hmmmm, I'd say go on BCF and not be vague. If you said where you want to stay it's possible a BCFer would offer you a bed/room/shed.

We would.....even though we've met you........even that wouldn't put us off Wink

Aye, you're a great lot and I love you to pieces Thumbs Up

Already being taken care of by a bcf absolute dude Thumbs Up

Just on a tight schedule, and often a random room can be less complicated. Just never found it so hard to arrange my own place to stay without needing to lube up.

Hertfordshire.

But I am just after ideas for how to find them myself. I am over reliant on sofas and I don't like that.

Do we have anything like AirBnb but for real English areas. Any tricks?

I'd probably look on spareroom or something, there'll be a landlord somewhere with a room sitting empty in a shared house, willing to let it out for a couple of days for a few quid.

They do go quicker these days, but I did that with/for a friend back in 2009.
