First I've heard of it. [Googles] So, it's a rumoured twin cylinder "lightweight" 350, a bit more premium than the current single cylinder 300R?
Why would Europe get it though? The CBR500R is already bang on the A2 power and power-to-weight limits and is selling OK. In contrast, the lighter but wimpier 300R has sold very poorly, has already had a price cut, and can be had at big discounts.
What would a 350RR bring to the party? They could tune it to give 35kW, but it would still need to weigh 175kg, so you'd end up with a 500R with less torque.
Or they could reduce the power and weight like the RC390 (perhaps engine mapping it down for A2 riders, but there are rumours that Nanny Brussels has called time on that) and end up with something in between the 300R and 500R, but at a price closer to the 500.
Even if it sells, it's most likely to cannibalise sales from its own stablemate.
Nope, I don't get it.
tl;dr version - dunno, m8. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was JDM/far East only. ____________________ My Flickr |
