So some guy I know from work told me that his little brother is a motorcycle thief.

His little brother who is 19 and a few of his mates, stole an R1. The R1 owner left it without any lock or anything on it thinking it's too heavy to be stolen. They broke the steering lock, put it into neutral and his friends just towed it by pushing it with his foot whilst his friend was on another motorcycle.

The R1 is the black big bang version and they've put a fake numberplate on it which just says his name. He's using the really small numberplate, rectangle numberplate.

What's surprising to me is that he just rides it around, with a small fake numberplate on it and never been stopped. I said don't the police stop him, he said they wouldn't even bother stopping an R1, no point. And I guess he sort of has a point. An R1 can't be tamed or reasoned with, when it wants to go, it's gone, unlikely they'd ever be able to catch him. Was quite surprising to hear that there's stolen bikes just being ridden around so casually, I think the small numberplates maybe bypass the ANPR?

You forgot the bit in the story of how they have managed to bypass Yamaha's immobiliser to get it running...

In and out more than a basketball team sharing a hooker.

He's up before Snaresbrook Crown Court regularly. Last case was this May, for sentencing. Sadly, no details on charge or sentence, so he could very well be at large and laughing it up.

Nothing new there then. He has the IQ of a very very small piece of wood.
Blokes a really nasty piece of work, he was in my year at school. Absolutely no surprise to me he turned out that way.
You used to be able to google his greatest hits but the EU deems that he has the right for his misdeeds to be allowed to be forgotten.
Probably an application he made to google while inside.

That used to be my local tube station, lived 2 minutes from it. Had a good hoon on the road up to the Court once on my CBR with a guy on an FZ1, which was kind of where I decided I'd have to get one of those one day.

Agreed, admitting that you know a bike thief (in some kind of indirect way) on a Bike forum and not doing anything with this information makes you a bit of a cockwomble.

I don't know the dude, just had a quick convo with his brother who's a cleaner at where I work. I'm not going to be writing names on the internet, nothing to do with me nor do I care as long as he doesn't go near my bike.

Besides he's known to the police anyways. He told me the police have video evidence of his brother stealing 2 different bikes on 2 separate occasions, but the police said it's not sufficient evidence because you can't see his face, they don't care. You guys have way too much faith in the justice system lol. They honestly don't give a fuck.

The point of this thread is to tell you guys how easy it is to steal a bike, so protect yours if you care about it. And after they've stolen it they can easily sell it for parts, or just ride it around without a care in the world.

If you have a bike worth stealing, get a disclock, chain it to an immovable object, and get one of those throttle data tool crock locks that go on the throttle, even after all that it can still get stolen, but most of the time they won't bother.

But if you have a bike like an R1/Ducati thats worth 10k plus and leave it with no security, you literally asked them to steal it from you, so don't blame anyone when it happens.

That's nice, so what's his name? The brother, the guy you work with, what's his name?

Given that you work with his brother, the bike thief kid and his scummy mates aren't far away from your bike.

All we need is the name of the guy you work with, PM me if you don't want to post it. https://www.bikechatforums.com/privmsg.php?mode=post&u=372

We're not interested in him in the slightest but knowing his name will lead to his kid brother.

BCF always delivers and never disappoints. All we need is a name. Thumbs Up
