Its a brilliant course, if not a little expensive.

Just think, you're a learner at the moment riding limited to some 125 piece of spunk and by the end of the week its any bike in the world (money dependant anyways Laughing ).

I can guarantee that your face will hurt the 1st time you open up the 500 for the 1st time due to the persistent grinning.

Good luck Razz

Well i went through my DAS with ease and really the only thing i've had complaints about all
week is for not following directions Mr. Green but other then that it went well until friday "test day" Confused

Had an hour before the test to get hold of my nerves and then the ride to the test center, all was well
the other guy having his test got setup with radio etc and set off on his test only to return 45 mins later
with a big grin Mr. Green and then after coming out of the test center building smiling and saying he passed most
of my nerves went away thank god Thumbs Up anyhow up comes my turn and after getting all setup with radio and
the show me tell me part was over off we went.

I got a perfect u-turn and emergency stop out of the way Wink and then continued into the final 10 mins'ish of the test
and then i realised that the examiner hadnt said a word or anything for about 10 minutes Shocked i checked around for five
minutes and didnt see the astra anywhere so i thought it best to pull over and check, but no! couldnt see him anywhere Shocked

Anyway after 10 minutes of waiting i thought it best to set off back to the test center and find out what was happening
the only thing is i didnt have a clue where i was Mr. Green and im not the best navigator Razz so basicaly i was lost and it took
me about 30-40 minutes to get back to the test center where i was greeted by police and some miffed faces from my
instructor and a couple of other people waiting for me Mr. Green

My instructor told me the examiner said if id have made it back to the center before he started the next exam then
i would have passed with flying colours as i was a good and confident rider with a decent head on my shoulders
but if i dont make it back in time then the test will be nulled and i would have to take it again Crying or Very sad.

All in all it was a good ride out and an experience at that but im gonna have to wait a little while now till i can get
another test date and do it all again, hopefully not getting lost in the process this time though Mr. Green...

Appologies for the long winded post Thumbs Up

What a load of twoddle.

The examiner was too damn slow in the car to keep up, you did the right thing and stayed out for a whilw, of course you're going to get back to the test centre after him. In theory you should have just waited at the side of the road until he found you.

What is it with bike examiners in cars, ride a bike like a proper biker.

Tits Middle Finger

Bad luck on the 'fail' good luck next time Thumbs Up Wink

Ah that's sh1t mate.

Hopefully you'll have an examiner on a bike second time around. I had heard that an examiner in a car can get stuck in traffic and waste 10 mins of your test... I found it worse with a car behind me. 2nd time around with an examiner on a bike it was a lot better - plus he passed me Very Happy .

You'll get it on the next one Thumbs Up

I dont see how its your responsibility to make sure the examiner stays behind you. I hope you arent being charged for the retest, because i was always told you should basically ignore the examiner except for his directions.

If he loses you its his bloody fault as far as i can tell!

Zen Dog

P.S. Best of luck with the retest (from a 2nd time passer!)

Awe that really stinks.

I think he should've passed you as he told your instructor that " You are a good & confident rider".

It was down to him that he couldn't keep up with his own instructions. I'd have been livid Evil or Very Mad

Good Luck for next time Thumbs Up

Cheers Thumbs Up

The retest is gonna be free Mr. Green but bike hire for the day is probly gonna
cost me a little bit Confused atleast they admit it was their fault for loosing me Laughing

To be honest i find riding easy, it feels natural Wink but i suffer from u-turn blues Twisted Evil on the test day i performed
a perfect u-turn Thumbs Up but it makes me nervous as hell knowing that i've got to do another one on another test
some day soon Confused and that in itself makes me very nervous Confused

Anyway, the dsa recon i will be contacted soon via post with another test date, so until then im stuck waiting!

For my test i practiced my u-turns over and over and over, until my NSR overheated!

I definately found it worthwhile to keep doing them until it was second nature, not only for the test, but because they are very useful out on the road, and they just teach you general low speed control.

Oh dear oh dear, That is a long time ago.

Well I am almost shamed to say I never went back for another test due to some unforeseen life obstacles and finance problems which I won't go in to but I am now in a position to do it all again Very Happy /Crazy!!!

A little bit has changed in the 9 years since my last post's, The bike licence has gotten complicated for younger riders so it seems. Luckily for me I am older (And wiser sort of) so I don't have to worry about too much of the changes Wink Especially being (36) years young this year.

I didn't give up riding after my test fail, I did continue on riding with just my CBT (Shocking I know) but when that ran out I sort of became an outlaw for a while and then started to drive more and more due to work Sad So it's been about 5 years since I rode properly on a bike, I basically need to get on with booking myself in and learning to ride a bike again!

The old CBT /DAS place I took my test (Bernie Macey) doesn't exist anymore but I know of a place in Royston, Barnsley close to me which comes recommended https://www.rideonmct.com Hopefully I'll be taking my learning there, I just need to get some theory test practice and book myself in for CBT again.

Has anyone had any experience with Ride On in Royston? I am definitely going there I just had to ask.

I know of Royston (a bit) lol.

How far are you wanting to travel?

https://www.kkridertraining.com/ are in Sheffield but the guys are brilliant and I am gonna use them when I go for my big boy license.

Alternative, I did my first CBT through A1 Motorcycles in Balby.

I'm in South Kirkby so it's about 5-6 miles away from me Very Happy I was hoping to keep as close as possible so Royston is perfect!

He's not into sexual favors is he Wink I could teach him a thing or two if he's into that sort of thing (wink wink)
