I use Evernote on a computer, 2 tablets and 2 phones. They have now said they will be limiting basic (free) to 2 items only. I'm not paying for it, I can't justify the cost for a purley lazy option of not having to type info on each device.

Is there an equivalent that anyone uses that does the same as Evernote without the price tag?

Evernote is a royal pain in my arse. Too much nagging, too many updates, too many permissions. And hardly any viable alternatives. So I have to use it.

I'd hoped for big things from Google Keep, but they haven't (to my knowledge) made a web app to retrieve your notes online.

Google Docs then I'd guess. Sick

Tried Evernote, found it to be too bulky with too much shite on there.

If you're like me and just want simple lists with reminders

Not your pal, and there's medication available if you're unable to excrete. Need to get that sorted, before it develops into fecal impaction Laughing

He's right though. Most of us here aren't the best at IT. Linux, heard about it but why wouldn't I use windows?

Rated my comment about people not giving a shit about Linux as "abusive" Laughing Laughing Laughing

I'm sorry, did I call you cunt or something? Definitely reacting like I did.

No, rated your post offensive as you called me pal, don't know you, don't want to know you, might as well have called me a cunt, actually, that would have been less offensive.

Apart from the 1.4 billion who use it on their smartphones, most internet services, almost all supercomputers, most smart devices including the Large Hadron Collider and International Space Station, about 10% of desktops (depending on who you believe)...

Christ, have I offended the Pro Linux gang?

I'm aware of how big Linux is, my comment still stands, most people don't give a shit about Linux. Your average user.

But they don't "use it".

Same as all my clients don't "use Linux" just because my servers run it. They are not "using" Linux, just a platform or app, etc powered by it with a nice shiny UI that looks nothing like what you two are actually referring to, and I, originally.

Oh, yeah, you're right sorry, I must tell all 3000 employees, that the desktop they are using, well, it's all existential, they're not actually 'using' it?

So, that's 1 assumption busted, next up, just what UI, do you assume we are using, you have no knowledge at all of how, I, or for that matter anybody else here makes use of either a linux desktop, server, app. Simplenote works well in the organisation I work for, because, of the 3000 employees, the vast majority have a linux desktop, the other few have Macs.

Nobody uses an OS, you use applications. Having a familiar app cross platform is almost a requirement for our IT dept to take something seriously.
I almost want to agree with Linuxyeti, but this kind of argument is all too familiar - and frankly juvenile.

Penis.

I agree, and I wasn't going to get into one of these flame wars about os's, after all this time you'd have thought I'd have learnt by now !! Smile

I was talking about me, if you read it properly, instead of thinking I was talking about you, which I have no idea. Wake up "pal".

Useless argument is useless.

I don't like Evernote and nobody gives a shit about Linux.
