Once I get off your girlfriend Wink

I'm gonna wait to see how the real world benchmarks look because 2 x rx480 in crossfire gives higher performance @ 51% gpu useage when compared to a single gtx1080 @ 98% useage.

Why didnt they show the performance of 1 rx480 ?

4GB version is meant to be $199,which would be £165 with VAT and $230 for the 8GB version which will be £190 with VAT.

We both now that prices never translate directly, look at the 1080 on newegg and then on scan.

$700 & £620

The pricing of US vs UK is ridiculous, always has been BUT, I believe those prices don't account for tax, as I read somewhere?

Because a 1080 is vastly superior to the RX480. The RX480 is to provide affordable VR. It's a cheap, low power GTX980. If you want money no object performance the 1080 is the best choice.

Any word on a release date?
I have a power supply that was bought to run two R9 280's which pull about 250W in anger, so I think I'll be fine with these.

On the tax, in the US it's not on the price, but it's added at checkout. Say you buy a sandwich for a dollar, state VAT is 10%, that'll be $1.10 please.

EDIT:
Release date and more details here:
https://arstechnica.co.uk/gadgets/2016/06/amd-rx-480-polaris-release-date-price-specs/

May be wrong but our price includes tax and theirs doesn't?

Problem is so many games don't implement SLI/crossfire properly/at all.

I would be playing doom now but it's shite for SLI, same thing with tomb raider I was getting 20 something FPS with my twin GTX780, I did get 60 after a few months when they patched it.

I'll be very likely to buy at least one anyway. I was hoping for the prices on the GTX980Ti to go into free fall about now but nope, still going for over £300.

Some benchmarks leaked, although release is only tomorrow:
https://wccftech.com/radeon-rx-480-gaming-performance-review-leaked/

Looks like performance is about on a par with a GTX970. These are still going for about £250 and (apparently) consume lots more power.
If they retail for less than £200, as the US price is $200, I'll buy. It'll be better than my R9 280x...

Around £220 for the 8gb version on Scan and OC UK.
They are on the stock leaf blower config though...

Leaked benchmarks are a bit disappointing considering the hype?

https://www.gamespot.com/articles/amd-radeon-rx-480-review/1100-6441354/

But then again, it's a £250

It matches high end cards from last year and costs half as much. I can stump up the cost for one of these, maybe a matching one at a later date too, but the 1080 that promised sooper low prices is still over £600.

Seems to be similar or slightly lower performance to my R9 390 which cost me £250 last year.

Still waiting for AMD to bring out the big guns.

I had a flick through guru3d's review and they were impressed.

I think this card will do well in xfire on a water cooled loop, overclocking headroom seems pretty good.
