ok i am seeking a new bike and was looking to buy an nsr 125, the thing is i dont know if i should go for a bigger bike say a 400 and get it restricted until i am allowed to have it fully de restricted, i am only 17 and to be taking to me A licence. So do you think i should go for the nsr 125 or get a bigger bike and restrict it? also will the insurance be wacky if i tell them it is a 400 restricted? thanks

Do your test! Get a bigger bike than a 125.

Have you got a full (restricted) license or a CBT?

What riding experience do you have?

Insurance on the 400 won't take any notice of it being 33bhp, it will be more than insurance for a 125 if thats what you mean by wacky.

Insuance is the same for a 400 that is restricted and one that is not.

My insurance at 19 having ridden a 125 for a year was over £600...

If you think you can cope with a 125 for a year, I'd say do that first, if only because insurance tends to go down a bit when you have a little experience.

However, if you have an A license, you might as well use it! Smile

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

if you plan to do your test a.s.a.p and you dont plan on wrecking the bike as soon as you get it and you can afford it then get the bigger bike, unless you plan to get a 125 and keep it for a year you will only have the 125 for a few months then you wont need it, altho if you do get a nice nsr and want to sell it later, and if you live in or near somerset then ill gladly look it up Mr. Green theres total lack of nsr's in my area so im having trouble finding one to buy.
