Nope, no, do not want and no again. Lets allow ourselves to remain grounded and think about what's actually going on here. Some boffins have sat around a table and decided that their current games are so crap and badly reviewed that they'll update the graphics of an old classic and boost the price tag of their current game in the hope of improving sales. I'm sure many rounds of drinks at the pub and someone somewhere got a huge bonus for what will be, no doubts, a money making idea.. it's not one I buy into however.

Lets not forget that while you're forking out the seventy quid (price from game's website) I'll just put on the 360, get my old COD 4 disk out and enjoy the game until I become bored. You're buying a reduced version of a game that already exists.

I smell a huge fish with this and sense something's not right. It's defiantly way too early to want to commit seventy quid of my hard earned money just to play a game I already have. Until there's more news on exactly what the game involves and more details I'm avoiding at all costs.

Don't you have to buy that other crap they've made (COD Infinity) to get MW remastered?

Battlefield 1 looks good though, might be time to put my hand in my pocket and buy a PS4.

Based on Game's website, yes. Looks like it's included as a special edition extra rather than a full blown remastered game on its own.

BF1 will be insanely good.

MW remastered will also be good. Clever ploy though, will make the latest game sales go through the roof.

COD 4 was pretty awesome, I wouldn't mind it being remastered, but I won't be getting it if it's not standalone.

7. Can I play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered without buying Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare?

No, you must own Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare in order to get Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.

Fuck sticks.

Bump.

Out of the two I think I'm going with BF1, been watching gameplay on youtube and it looks really impressive. COD's been going down a steep slope for such a long time that non of this modern crap they've been dishing out year after year looks like it could even come close. I watched some footage of the first few cods and the more recent titles couldn't be any further away from how the franchise started out. Still, year after year there's a fresh generation of youngsters that demand the newest title so they'll be a market for the new COD but just not for me. Sure a remastered COD is a cool idea but doesn't warrant a high price tag and a half arsed attempt at remaking the game, either standalone it or leave a classic alone... like they've run out of ideas.

I've read BF1 will have 8 maps. Planes and more. Footage I've viewed of the guns looks impressive and the design / diverse of weapons. I'm going to wait a while before pre-ordering but at £48 on Amazon (includes Helifighter pack DLC seems like a decent price. Hopefully the gameplay is as good as it looks and the online servers are good from day 1.

I wish they'd do this with some proper oldies. If they remade Gran Turismo 1 and 2 for PS4, I'd be buying a latest gen console within a month.

For now I'll stick with my PC and emulators.

I don't get all the ''remastered'' hype. Alright, I did enjoy the Last of us and Uncharted on the PS4, but that's only because I've never played the originals before, as I've never owned a PS3. If I had played those games before, I wouldn't buy them again, ''remastered''.

I do understand what the game developers are trying to do. I mean, the film industry remasters (blu ray) and re-shoots films every day and those films earn billions of pounds, even though those are already seen films. But, those films were first released more than 30+ years ago, unlike the videogames, that they remaster, that are only a few years old. Yes, they could remaster the 80's classics from the zx-spectrum and release them today as AAA games, but that would just not work, would it?

Remastering COD 4 is just ridiculous, because you could play that on anything that could count enough ones and zeros and not catch on fire while doing so, not that long ago. Even today, it does look alright and play on the PC.

What about people like me, who really enjoy realistic shooters? Cod4 would definitely benefit from a remaster, with todays hardware and advancements in level/game design, I think it would look incredible.

You ever see the Golden Eye mod for PC? Was a Half Life 2 mod I believe, looked fantastic compared to the blocky original on N64. Many hours of fun.

Played BF3 briefly again and enjoyed it, makes me wonder why I ever liked COD beyond WaW or the early MW games (I forget what order they all came out in).

Forza Horizon 3 comes out this year also although I never did catch on to the second one as much as the first and don't really see me wanting to get it.

FIFA 17.. If 15/16 are anything to go by that all be a no thanks.

F1 2016.. Hopefully they bring back career mode and improve gameplay. I'll keep an eye out as a maybe.

Mafia 3 - Looks interesting, shame it's not in the same theme as number 2. Does the story carry on in any way or is it a new game altogether?

I don't question the developer's decision to remaster the Call of Duty, I just think it's not the right game for such ''re-release'' scheme.

By the way, if you really want a realistic shooter game, try Arma games. One shot and you're dead/incapacitated, 90% of the time you are sneaking around or laying in mud preparing your shot/action. There's no running around and shooting at everything that moves, because you don't get a second chance when the enemy hits you. Even the very first Arma game (Operation Flashpoint) was like this. Patience and preparation is the key to finish the game. Which is something that I find realistic, unlike the COD games. In COD games it's all about permanent action, blazing guns and hero moments, which is fun, but it's not realistic. Not even talking about auto-heal and invincible unless the script says otherwise.

To the MODs and stuff, I replayed many games of my youth (90's) and those games are still cool today. Just played the Anno 1602 on w7, the other day, and it is still a cool game to play. I wasted several hours in it, at 640x480 resolution with midi sound and did not care a bit about it not being fullHD with DTS sound. Some games age well, I guess.
