So, the shooting of the guy in Minnesota on Wednesday.....

The Police claim he was armed (he was) and was going for his gun (who knows?). The question is why the victim felt the need to have a live, loaded firearm in his trousers when out a for a leisurely drive with his girlfriend and her kid?

If you're black and driving around in a car with a defect in Dallas, why carry a firearm? Going by the actions of the local homies of late, I'd be a bit jittery too if I was a local copper pulling a guy over for a dodgy taillight and he admitted he was armed.

Black lives Matter is going to cost a lot of black lives with their "fight the Power" attitude. Why isn't their campaign based around "If the Police pull you over comply with all instructions immediately" that will save more lives than their kill whitey current stance.

As has been mentioned, when its adjusted a white man is more likely to be shot by cops than a black man in America (probably because when the police arrive all the black men have already shot each other and a couple of bystanders.)

Why are the Police so scared of Black people when dealing with them that they feel the need to pull a gun out?

Personally if a anyone with a gun came up to me and ordered me to do things like keep my hands on the wheel, lie on the floor spread eagled, keep hands out of pockets or any such things I would do so without question. I wouldn't tell the guy to fuck off and start going into pockets or start wrestling with the guy with the gun. Perhaps that is just me, but there again I'm not deaded and have never been assaulted by a Popo.

I can't see it getting any better in the short term.

My understanding is that over here, after serving time in prison various things are much harder for a while afterwards - getting a job, passing a credit check to get a flat, getting credit. After a period of time there may be no requirement to declare and no paper trail - so damaging to your long term livelihood, but not permanently so.

I also understand that in America, it's worse.

So if the system is set up in such a way that a large proportion of a single ethnic group is likely to have their life ruined over what they see as a minor offense, they are going to absolutely hate the police. if that person gets pulled over because their car is a bit knackered (not unusual over here) and happens to have a gram of coke on them for a night out (also not unusual over here) then they can expect the next 50 years of their life to be awful.

In that situation, I would also be applauding someone that executes police.

Unfortunately (for Americans) the solutions I would come up with are horribly socialist and anti-freedom. Gun control (to stop situations from escalating too far), a decent welfare system (because I'd rather have dolescum stealing from me in benefits than criminals actually stealing from me) and a way of clearing criminals records over time (so ex-convicts can be seen as people, not ex-convicts).

What we'll see instead will be more guns, more prison, more violence. It'll finish when America runs out of police or black people to kill.
