A week ago I had my car clamped by baliffs over a bus lane violation, somehow I'd missed the letters about if from the council.

Anyway being skint I call a relative, who helps me out with the fee, and all's well again...

Until I visit my relative the next day to thank them, they tell me that another relative who does not work for the baliffs has been given a full blow by blow account of what happened by someone who does work for the baliffs.

Needless to say I'm pretty pissed off about this, not with the relative but with whoever chose to give out full details of an extremely embarrassing incident.

So what to do? Is this potentially a criminal offence under the Data Protection Act? Should I consider civil action against the baliffs?

Tl;Dr; Someone at a baliffs office gave out personal details about me and a debt collection to their friend.

Either go full RogerBorg on them or contact the bailiff company and give them a heads-up.

I would be pretty pissed off too had that been my details. But even though it is possibly a breech of data security, sure they would say it is only hearsay and where is your proof? Difficult one to nail down I would imagine.

Shanai said that Duwayne told her that Shazni heard from DeShawn that...

So to get the bailiffs involved would it not require a court case? So it would already be in the public domain, would it not?
