Am I missing something here?
I can't get mine to work.
Haterz Gonna Hate and all that bollocks.
But I gathered on something like the Chaly, I could get away with a flamer kit, without being a complete cvnt.
So, my trail of thought.
Spark plug, tapped into tail pipe.
HT Lead from spark plug, to a small ignition coil under the seat.
Ignition coil earthed as normal, to the chassis.
Coil lived up, with a switch.
The same switch that lives up said coil, also cuts the actual engine, ignition coil.
At this point, it should be hey presto, flames on over-run.
As the engine is not running, yet it's on over-run as the bikes rolling along.
Got a second spark plug, giving it balls out in the tail pipe.
But me get no flamey.
I have checked, and yes it's defo sparking away.
It's obviously sparking away at the RPM of the engine.
Are these 'black box of tricks' Flamer kits different?
They usually have a 555 timer in them, what sort of rate do they flash at?
Or could it just be that Chaly is only a single cylinder, and even on over run, with W-O-T, it still doesn't throw enough fuel through to light?
Ideas, and slatings, please.

I didn't even know this was a thing.
Triumph 955's do the pops, bangs and flames in part due to the secondary air injection, ie clean air is allowed into the exhaust when the throttle is closed to burn off excess fuel and reduce emissions. Is there anyway you can introduce air? If the end can is a little loose maybe? |

I tried it with throttle open, throttle closed, pumping throttle while holding button, etc etc.
It'l back-fire, pop and bang on normal over-run anyway. Just fancied being able to project a 30cm flame out the back for more than a split second.
Party trick for the little pink machine I guess.
Ah well. I guess having 18bhp will be more fun. |

I would imagine that getting the stoichiometric ratio right would be very difficult. For better results, get a small cylinder of hydrogen activated by a solenoid valve to inject into the exhaust. Hydrogen has a superior combustion range to petrol. Hope this helps. ____________________ This post is probably not serious and shouldn't be taken literally.

Bike is very pretty, too much of a lady to indulge in anything so vulgar as flaming. ____________________ They're coming to take me away, ho-ho, hee-hee, ha-haaa, hey-hey,
