What are the average costs for bike lessons?
I just went to see the local training place and the guy said they do it in 2 hours at a time for 40 quid on my own bike or 45 on their bike.

Is this good value, what are you paying (obviously it will have been less in the past)?

The thing to do is find out all the schools in your area ( www.yell.com could be a start) and give them all a ring to find out their prices. Really it doesn't matter what other people paid at the other end of the country for their lessons because you have to use someone in your area. I think their prices sound OK, I'm sure other ppl will give some advice as well. Just like insurance, ring around.

Have a look through the places near you on Being-Motorcycling.co.uk to see how much other places charge.

I searched the 'net, and went with a private bloke who lived fairly close to me.

His rate was £18 an hour, I booked 3 hours, and he knocked it down some more and did 3 hours for £50.

He had every advanced cert. you could imagine, RoSPA diploma, IAM, etc.

I passed my test today, 3 minors after just those 3 hours professional training, and a CBT about 6 months previous.

£100 per day 9-5 on the bike with an hour for lunch and most afternoon 2-5 were spent 1-1 training the rest was 2 pupils- 1 instructor.

then on the fourth day I had an hours training followed by my test at 2 30pm.

in total £360
o and we got regular cups of tea too Thumbs Up

but most of all my instructor was very good and i passed which in my opinion is worth whatever it costs
