A crosser is out of the question...me legs are too short heheh.

Also, would feel safer on a 4 stroke me thinks?

If your short get something small like a cbr125.

Honda NSR is what most people choose.

Basically most people either have:

Arrow A nice lookin 125 (RS125, mito etc) for a year then pass the test

or

Arrow A basic 4t 125 like a CG for a few months then pass the test and get a 33bhp bike (any size)

Which one are you? Im number 1

Depends what sort of price range your looking at.

Obvious solution would be to get a cheap CG as a run around, get through your test then move onto something bigger. You wouldnt lose much money on a CG after a few months of riding either.

If your looking for something more stylish and sporty, the CBR125 would be a pretty good idea, but they dont come cheap! Pretty small machines so you wouldnt have any trouble getting your feet down. Very reliable and still quite quick for what they are, only they are rather overpriced brand new, something like £2,300 from a Honda dealership and around £1700 second hand.

Depends how much your looking to spend, how long you plan to keep the bike and if you plan to get your full license in a few months time.

near enough every place iv seen selling cbr125's are selling them at £2,000 brand new and even thats a bit steep for what they actually are, but then again they could be quite nice if your a hobbit at 3 feet tall thats used to riding peds at 30mph Laughing (i have a personal hate for the cbr)

The CBR has always turned my head as a first bike, price doesn't come into it, as I would like a bike that will sell as soon as I'm confident enough to upgrade.

Theres many people who have a hate for the CBR.

Personally, I dont hate it, but it could of had much more potential. I mean, for a start, it could of actually been a bit taller and wider, so that anyone above 5 foot 7 wouldnt look out of place.

If you like the CBR, then go for one second hand. I wouldnt put a lot of money into something, which, to be frank, would probably be dropped at some point or another. Find one for 2nd hand, get used to riding for a few months then sell on when your ready. You'll find you wont make much loss on the bike either.

I've heard they are good confidence builders, very light and extremely easy to ride. Thumbs Up

Nothing personal cos its a beautiful looking bike, but its not the ideal 1st bike for me...looking for a 4 stroke (yeah, there I said it!!) & something a little cheaper, especially being 2nd hand.

Thanks anyway.

f you want a four stroke then i would go for the sachs xtc. its the best looking four stroke by far (at 125cc anyway) although i cant understand why u want a 4stroke other than they arn't as high maintanance,

They are more useable than a 2 stroke. Dont have to worry about finding power as its all over the rev range. They also dont need warming up. Just start the bike and go, no need to worry about keeping below 5000rpm til its up to temperature.

Just because the XTC is the best looking doesnt mean its the best bike. They're about the same size as the RS, quite heavy too, whereas the CBR is very small and light, the perfect learner bike.

Nothing wrong with 4 strokes, sure they arent very fast, but speed isnt always everything.
