The exhaust is leaking on the ball joint which is bolted to the cylinder and i cant seem to seal it.

I have cleaned up the ball and socket on the exhaust so they of shiny and put stronger springs on but it still leaks so i tried holts gun gum and that lasted 2 weeks now its leaking again.

Anybody know how to seal it?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

What motorcycle are we talking about? There is supposed to be a seal of some sort there, such as a copper ring.

Hi

With the description of a ball mounting it sounds like an Aprilia 125.

If so they are meant to use a high temp silicone sealant, as this will stay relatively soft unlike gum gum.

All the best

Yup, was about to recommend this but i dont know if they can handle near-cylinder temperatures. Ive used them for sealing off between silencer and the fat part on a 2-stroke exhaust (IF someone can give me right term thatd be supercool)

Cheers, so its the direct translation. Finnish is a very fluid and romantic language. PAISUNTAKAMMIO Laughing
