 |
|
Hi, I'm now the owner of a van. It comes with some decent parking sensors but the Mrs' car comes standard with a reversing camera which is brilliant even in a relatively small car.
I'd like the same thing for the van so I can get right up to stuff (the current sensors go mental even when there's a good foot of space left) and there are loads of kits on ebay for about £35-40. I've been looking at something like this. Has anyone used them? Are the screens rubbish? Wiring it in myself is no problem, I just don't want to waste £40.
Cheers |

I got a real cheapo one for my van.
Think it cost about £16 and the screen was £5 ish.
Does the job nicely.

I wired it through the panels behind everything and wired it to the switched live and a switch that was spare from the last owner (was a sparky van and had a couple of gadgets that were removed when I got it).
Means I can turn it off totally if I want which is quite handy
Must admit the screen is covered up mostly these days. Thought I'd need it when I bought the van but found using my side mirrors was more than enough when moving it about.. just got used to it.
Does the job ____________________ CBR954RR - Daily toy

For the T5 campervan, I got one of the 8" Chinese head units with wireless reversing camera, tv module etc. It ties in with the parking sensors and displays both the camera image and the parking sensor waves.
About £200, but if you plan on upgrading the head unit anyway, you get a lot of bang for your money. Digital TV receiver, Sat Nav, Bluetooth hands free phone connection, 2 X rear USB ports for Iphones/Ipods etc, SD card slot, CANBUS adapter to read car ECU etc...
Mine came from this lot on Ebay. Plug and play..
