My wife and children are on the other side of the planet so we have to rely on video chat (wechat/skype) to keep up with daily life.

Seeing the post in 'Random Banter' about sim only packages, I wonder how much data say a 1 hour video call takes. This would determine the best package/sim for me. I seldom use minutes for calls, so don't need a huge amount, same for texts.

So, does anyone know the data amount for video chat please?

Thanks guys. Yes, I currently don't use a phone I have an Ipad Air that can use a sim card. I use the wifi at home all the time, but was just thinking about if I am out or in work and having to make calls out of wifi.

Skype is quite thirsty per minute, that is surprising

c. 230mb for an hour of video isn't a lot at all. You could always use phone only mode if you're worried (or set settings to potato)
