Hello guys,

I have a 'little' problem with my bike as it makes a weird noise and lost much of it's power over the last few weeks.

I have an AJS DD-125E8 cruiser bike, 125cc, bought new in September 2015. Went to my service station but they can't do it under the warrenty as it's not the manafactures problem and they said it could cost even up to £700. I used to be able to hit 60 mph on this bike and now it's really struggling to do 50 mph.

If you could help me to diagnose this problem that would be great, if you have any more question about the bike then I will answer as soon as possible.

Below is an attachment of a short video showing the sound of the engine.

Why not ask the garage what is wrong with it as the obviously know.

Edit, listened to your video and it sounds like the big end is knocking, have you run it without oil or used the oil that it was imported with?

"not the manafactures problem"

Request a detailed description of the exact problem.
What has caused it.
The cost of remedy.
The exact reason the manufacturer is not liable for repair since it is still under OEM 12 months warranty.

As said, do you have service history for this machine?
Is this stamped by the dealer?

Has be bike been in for its scheduled services since new?
If not they may be able to bite you on that one.
If it has though, I would expect it to be 'their problem'...

Sadly some dealers will just try and ignore warrantee commitments because #Monies...

Do you have any paperwork outlining the warrantee?

OP is alive.

Last week I started a new job and I was travelling by public transport as I was worried that my AJS would give up on me if I took it to central London (overheating engine)

On friday, I decided to give it a go and when I was on my way back, the bike actually gave up within 10 mins of riding. I think it may be the timing chain, the bike starts but needs a lot of revs not to turn off ( cant remember the 'S' word when the bike goes off Laughing )

So now Im left with a broken down AJS, no warranty and a new Honda CB125F (which I was talking on about in another topic)
