How many times did you nearly get wiped out by a motorhome on the wrong side of the road whilst cornering?

The lower bit is fun but I didn't enjoy the bit near the top much, can see why the cyclists like it but definitely not one of my top motorbiking roads. Nice photos though Thumbs Up

It is hard work. Not so much a great ride, more of an achievement with great views at the top. I would like to do it again on something smaller and lighter than a fully loaded ZX12, like a supermoto.

I think anything more upright with wideish bars would be good for it. Those turns are tight and the sports bikes were pretty much on full lock trying to get round whilst avoiding the other traffic.

I did it on an FZR400 which is small and light but didn't have much steering lock. It also didn't run that well at the high altitude so I was reving the nuts off it in 1st and 2nd to stop it bogging down, well until I inevitably got stuck behind the next chain of motor homes and cars.

I saw a kit car giving it some when I was on the way down and that looked kinda fun but soon got stuck behind slower cars, I'd probably give it another go if I knew it was going to be good weather and totally empty.

I did it on a Goldwing 1800 and pretty well shat myself. Couldn't get into a rhythm because of other vehicles and was at almost paddling speed round some of the bends. Hated it if I'm being honest.

Now a kit car or something sporty with 4 wheels. Thumbs Up

It was the slow moving lorries and coaches as well as the motorhomes that slowed progress along these fun roads Very Happy Thumbs Up

Fully agree that a supermoto bike would have been even more fun,but would have been a bit difficult to carry all of our gear unless we had another vehicle to carry it for us Thinking

(Last one taken down the road on the Foscagno Pass.)

That was the last day of riding i managed on my euro tour as I went mountain biking the next day and broke my collarbone. I had to get a flight home and the bike shipped back with ADAC
