Hello,

I'm wanting to know some stuff before purchasing a bigger kit for my moped, so i'm wanting to know whether its a just 80cc kit for a moped I should buy or is there a specific one I should buy?. I've got a Keeway 50cc focus moped.

Thanks,

It won't be a moped with a bigger barrel and piston so you better make sure you have the licence, insurance and tax to suit.

You mean a big bore kit? It has to specifically be for your bike, and it will make it illegal to ride at the age of 16. If you're 17, you might as well sell it and buy a 125. Changing your bike to 80cc ruins it's value. It's only any good as a 50, so you'll have a bike that nobody wants if you do.

Don't listen to them stick-in-the-mud squares.

Go illegal: it's great!

Yes the kit has to be specifically for your model of bile. Carburettor or engine management settings that are good for a 50, could be miles off on an 80 and make it seize, so you probably need more than just a cylinder barrel and piston.

Yup, you'll need a specific barrel and piston, then you'll need to change the carb or jetting, the variator, CDI and exhaust.

£500 and three months down the line, you'll be making a "y is mi raceped onli do 25mph tho????" thread, in which we'll say "Put it all back to stock."

Don't bother with a kit they're too expensive just buy a big piston on egay and file the cylinder out to suit use some fine wet & dry to smooth any rough edges 20% power increase guaranteed Thumbs Up

By the time you order a kit, fit it, try and make it work etc, I bet there won't be long left until you're 17. I'd wait it out and put the money towards a 125.
