Hi all, back again...

Took bike for first long trip today to work. 10 miles or so. Started first kick with the choke on, set off and all was good.

When bike gets to certain rpm, it starts stuttering at won't go any higher. Doesn't matter if the throttle is half open or wide open. When clutch is in, revs up fine.

When I got to about 8 miles, i couldn't do more than 25 mph because anything over a touch on the throttle and it would bog. I got to work, turned it off and tried to kick in on again and nothing worked. Any ideas? Thanks

I would check the condition of the plug to see if its running lean or rich (white or blackened oily) could indicate over fuelling or fuel starvation if its the usual tan brown colour then it could be the exhaust needs decoking.

Decoking can be done with caustic soda I believe (I tried this with supermarket stuff it isn't strong enough, do as Pete says here https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?p=1116196 and get from the chemist), I did the cowboy method on my RXS 100 when it displayed the same symptoms as you describe, only did this due to time constraints but wouldn't advise it even though it cleared it.

Thank you. I'll have a nosey tonight after work and let you know how I get on.

It has plenty of fuel. It's just been filled up.

Anyway on the ride how it conked out ideally right outside a good local bike shop where I got my MOT done so I took it to them and let them play with it. Definitely still needs the exhaust de coking though.
