I need a new one Embarassed Rear disc, worn a bit below what it should be.. Are any pattern brands good? I notice brembo are a bit cheaper than OE, but the min thickness is 0.5mm more. Would the disc be thicker to begin with? or weaker metal?.. why? www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310845972763

I would bet less holes would last a lot longer, less chance of cracking and not wear pads so quick without much difference in brake, but it seems to be a cosmetic thing.. they dont make in cbr6f size though
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291239352850 Bet this works well Neutral www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221886498131

Depends which pattern brands.

Steer clear of the dodgy, obviously cheap chinese stuff.

Brembo should be fine, Galfer, ALTH, Braking will all be fine.

Rear disc, don't give a shit. It's there to please an MOT man and occasionally hold the bike on an incline. Any old shit will suffice.

I'd be happy enough chucking a Chinese shit quality disc on the rear myself as I don't use the rear brake at all.

I'd also probably not worry about the fact it was slightly below the minimum thickness either.

Occurs to me most bikes have done very few miles, I should get a used rear wheel assembly instead, then I can have spare tyre really to swap if needed.

I've got a £30 almost certainly Chinese pattern disc on the rear of mine, done 6 or 7k miles no issues.

Like others have said the rear gets very little strain so I've got no problem running one on there.

Despite EBC suggesting that their discs are lighter than OEM I did not find this with a replacement for one of two Exup rear wheels

https://i666.photobucket.com/albums/vv23/WiNot_Rhencullen/Workshop/20100309_7.jpg

This disc was quite a bit heavier.

But the make of disc that I do prefer is that offered by 'Braking' sold by Talon Engineering

https://i666.photobucket.com/albums/vv23/WiNot_Rhencullen/Workshop/20100319_3.jpg

I also have this make of rear disc on the KTM and the R1 as well as the Exup1000

My brother tried a Galfer rear disc on his GSX1000K6 but it was so thin as standard it warped the first time he did a wheelie and used the back brake to moderate the height of the front wheel off the ground. So,having seen the 'Braking' rear disc on my R1 he bought one of those and found it far better than either the Galfer or OEM.They are also a reasonable price. Not cheap/cheap.But anyone who rides a performance bike should not go for cheap imho Thumbs Down
