I just spent the last hour just now taking off my fairings and scraping off burnt cable from the insides of my bike because the charging cable for my year old TomTom Rider V5 decided to expose positive to negative and melt.

This happened in a parking lot with lots of people around, and there was loads of smoke from the melting plastic, shit was embarrassing.

Irritated. Checked all my electronics and they work fine though so whatever, just a PITA to have to scrape burnt cable off of everything.

Cant fault the TomTom Rider V5 itself though.

Well my guess would be that the cable has either chafed through, then shorted out or the heat from the engine/exhaust has melted the cable and it has shorted it.

Wow you're so pedantic even though you knew what he meant you had to pull him up on it. Your life must be boring as hell.

Yeah it wasn't fused. Thought I could get away with it, didn't expect the bastard to split. It couldn't have been engine heat because I ran it around the fairings that aren't near the engine.

And Socket you must be so fun at parties mate. Bet you keep all the women's knickers dry with your English corrections.
