"Hello, do you have equipment that could potentially receive BBC iPlayer content?"
"I have a computer"
"Licensefeeplease"

So long as they promote second rate ginger egotists into the well oiled shoes of genuine journalists, I will not support this kind of prole-abuse.

Anyone see where the implimentation is on this?

"The law has changed" which law and where? Regulation/Act.

Anyone have chapter and verse?

I presume they've done a regulation?

No. But:
Quote:
They’re proposing that viewers will need to verify their licence fee payment online when signing in to iPlayer in order to gain access – so it’s even harder to avoid paying than it would be your regular tv licence (although this change in payment method isn’t looking like it will be rolled out until a later date).

If folk are prepared to spunk out 1000s of pounds a year to watch more glittery shite on Sky et al then why should Aunty not try to claw something back?

Find free stuff to watch elsewhere.

Ginger Pubes can still be found on radio. Smile

I'm willing to bet the law hasn't changed to say you can't slam the door in their face.
I genuinely don't have a TV tuner within any device in the house, and don't even use their catchup crap.
Like shite am I entertaining those chancing scumbags let alone identifying myself though.

Can't see this convincing people to pay. I have never invested in a TVL, certainly don't intend to now.

Phew.

Quote:
“(1) Subject to paragraph (2), in Part 4 of the Act (licensing of TV reception), “television receiver” means any apparatus installed or used for the purpose of receiving"

"They've kept "Installed or used for the purpose of.".

I was concerned they might have gone for a blanket "capable of".

You are basically paying them to peddle state left wing propaganda to you. By paying it you literally fund your own brainwashing! To add insult to injury they axed Top Gear, about the only vaguely non-PC programming, so now all you have is:

+ The Big Questions: Would Britain be better without white people?
+ Slavery, Britain's shame
+ Britain's Got Gardens: Why Polish gardens are better in every respect
+ Is climate change a scam? Only racists and 'Kippers think so
+ Dancing with Ragbah Mohammed, Dim Ching, and Sally Khan
+ The Big EU debate: 5 Euro fanatics take on one angry Tory or 'Kipper
+ The Big Bake Off: Guess who will win?

Enjoy Wink

Oh, you have an internets though? I don't even have that, I can't see why people waste their time on it.

I've noticed recently that the iplayer now asks you if you have a TV licence before you can proceed to click on the play button.

I wonder if anyone has ever clicked the 'No I don't, can I please pay X amount of pounds right now please' option? Laughing

The bit I like the best is...

Quote:
Am I covered to use BBC iPlayer when I’m on the go or abroad?

If you already have a TV Licence for your address, you are already covered to download or watch BBC programmes on iPlayer when you’re on the go, provided the device you’re using isn’t plugged into the electricity mains at a separate address. If the device is plugged in at a separate address, you need to be covered by a licence at that address.

So "borrow" a tablet from a friend who pays licence fee.
Take it home and power it via USB power bank and use chromecast to broadcast iPlayer to the TV.
