bike night, meet at cafe go for group ride to local roundabout spot.

always loads of reports of speeding loud bikes round there but its a main drag for connecting villages.

police turn up when were sat down chilling... go over have a chat say hello, assure them were not doing anything wrong were a group of people from 17-50 and just chill there.

we leave they follow.. come up to a 50 zone 2 lanes have some guy in a car doing 40~ overtake him.. on come the blue lights and pulled for doing 55 in a 50.. he used the "we had to do over 70 to catch you"

asked to see his video footage of my speed they said they didnt have any...

so i quickly declined his claims i was doing well over 60 and i declined his offer for 3 points on my license.. he then got shitty that i cut them up on a roundabout.. more a case of them cutting me up on the roundabout and slowed down so i went round them.

he offered me advice so i offered him some back on his theory that because they had to speed i was speeding.. he didnt grasp the fact that i accelerated past them to 50 coming up to the roundabout then up to 55 off it well before they could.. he "knew" i was speeding because i was pulling away from them... you dont say..

Don't ride with people, ride alone.

I have absolutely no drive to do a group ride, I ride like a twat and I'd take them down with me.

In future, I'd thoroughly recommend just laughing out loud at the contemptible behaviour of despicable, pathetic hypocrites out to abuse the roads for a chase-and-race. Really, it's ridiculous behaviour and they deserve to be ridiculed.

Although what were you doing continuing to ride when they started following? You must have known fine well that they were out to tug anyone for anything. Just pull over and FaceTweet your Tindr or whatever yoofs are doing these days.

Anyone's allowed to try. But yes, it's an offence to not stop for a Traffic Womble. Curiously, it appears that unlike a copper, Wombles don't even have to be in uniform to gain their superpowers. Thinking

https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1988/52/section/163

[UPDATE]
Dammit, beaten by seconds.

OK, well, I'll elaborate.

Stop by plain-clothes coppers ruled 'unlawful' by Scotplod Complaints Commissioner.

Then he took a few seconds to actually read the law, and issued a snivelling, mealy mouthed yeah-but-no-but 'apology' for being wrong. Non-uniforms, or indeed anyone, can lawfully try to stop anyone they like.

No offence committed by the pursued driver for failure to stop for non-uniformed coppers though.

Settle this for me, I've only been in England a few years and we don't have these back in Scotland.

The "Traffic Officer's" on the motorway, are they allowed to pull you over? They only seem to have cones in their land rovers/w.e 4x4 they are driving.

Back on topic, yeah what a dickhead.

You have to stop if requested to do so by a constable in uniform or a traffic officer.

I don't believe they have an exemption to break the speed limit in order to chase/pull you over but failure to stop is an offence in itself.

he tried to argue the toss about bike fatalities and clutching at straws, eventually he got bored, sulked off to his car and drove off with his tail between his legs.

I have heard talk about plod forces being privatised.

If this is the case then it is no surprise that plod are attempting to gain favour by going for soft targets like road users instead of more difficult crimes.

If plod were to be privatised,I would not be in a queue to buy shares Rolling Eyes

(Before Brexit there was talk about UK plod forces being taken over by the EU)

Did these voices also tell you that your so-called-legal name is a fiction, and that you are not a ship and so cannot be put in the dock?

Granted, they're not above "sponsorship":
