Passed CBT, which way now?

Alright all,
I posted ages ago (and was roundly heckled when I did) I'm the bloke
That didn't know what an ent was for anyone interested.
Having not learned my lesson the first time, I'd appreciate some opinions on what to do now.
I've done CBT and I'm in two minds how to proceed, I could go get a 125 and ride with L plates for x amount of time or I could spend some of what I would on the 125, get fully licensed, keep saving and then get whatever takes my fancy....

It seems a fairly clear choice to go for the license but by the same token, having never driven at all before I feel I probably would benefit from getting some experience behind me.
Any opinions would be appreciated, all my pros and cons are academic at this point so hearing from people that have done it either way would help.

I'd spend it on the A licence as they're not cheap! You'll be glad you did in the end.

License.
Once I got my CBT certificate, I was out and about on the road. I'd been driving for several years, so I was able to apply that to riding a bike. But the CBT doesn't teach you much at all. And I think it would be a much better idea to gain experience with some understanding of what you're meant to be experiencing, rather than getting experience after two hours on the road and a plethora of bad habits waiting to be developed.

I dont know what an 'ent' is either??? Shocked

I went down the route of buying a 125 and pottering around on that to get experience, which i thought was the right thing to do........ however, don't look at your speedo before a bend otherwise you might end up in a bush like i did Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

But apart from that i am glad i had the tiddler for a bit, especially to practice MOD 1 maneuvers before my test. If you can control a 125 on the slow bits, then when the time comes to do it on a big bike, it will be a dawdle Laughing

edit:- Just read your 'ent' post. As you don't have a car license i would suggest you do your DAS straight away. As you have little knowledge of roadcraft it could get a little dangerous out there pottering around on L plates without proper instruction Thumbs Up

There ent no point arguing with a chap who says "plethora". FACT.

Despite going the 125 route myself, I'd agree that in your situation (you're 24+, right?), with the current licensing regime, that you should go straight to training and tests.

Delay that gratification a bit and you'll pleasure yourself more in the end.

If you need your mind made up, try and blag a quick go on a 600+ training bike. It'll ruin 125s for you.

Cheers for the all the input, I think that DAS is the way forward for me.
And yeah, I'm over 24 by a much larger margin than I would like if I'm honest so the delayed gratification isn't a problem, it's the difference between being done quick and being done right.
