That looks like the road outside the Oakdene Cafe down in Wrotham, if it is I know that they put a dispersal order in place last year that banned groups of three or more bikes after complaints and they put cctv cameras on the street lights.

Stingers for bikes is dangerous and incredibly negligent. I'm really surprised anyone thinks that that is an option to stop a bike safely.

I approve of the language being used towards McPiggy, but what was that, a bike meet where a copper turned up with a stinger? Confused

Personally I think they should pursue bikes, if the person runs and stacks it that's their fault. Wouldn't go as far as 'merican coppers who run into the biker, paralyse the innocent girlfriend pillion, and consider it a job well done.

It's an option to prevent riding off.

Pffft... they're designed to leave hollow spikes in the tyre that let the air out slowly... while possibly unpleasant at high speed, I imagine they should be used where the speed is lower, or create an obstruction causing bike to slow first... (maybe couple of cars creating funnel shape ?)

I'm all for it...
If some fucktard wants to hoon about and try escape the police because he doesnt want to take responsibility for his actions then I would much rather see him flying through a hedge because he isn't Rossi enough to realise he's on flats instead of seeing him ploughing into a crowd of pedestrians/family car yadda yadda yadda.

If you won't stop for the police and are riding dangerously then you should be stopped by any means necessary before you kill other people. Just because you're 'in the zone' it doesn't mean I'm happy to meet you head on in a blind corner whilst you're doing 60 and about to potato both of us...

Hows about putting sparklers in the spikes? May as well make a show of it Thumbs Up

Are they?

AFAIK they have been tested and have had very similar results as when used on cars. Police have huge problems with moped/motorbike enabled crime, gangs riding around committing violent crimes and getting away easily due to the police's very limited options in stopping them. Stingers have proven effective and will (hopefully) only be used to stop those who have been involved in crime, not merely speeding or failing to stop.

The gangland thing on Ch5 the other night the masked, uzi carrying (very careful not to mention 'baklaff' although they
are almost certainly a part of that group) black wasters said they exclusively use bikes because 'da feds' can't catch
those on the estates, adding they are also ideal crime vehicles because a back to back pillion arrangement makes drive bys easier.
A stingers the least of what I'd use on them, why the fuck do we train coppers to fire guns and prevent them from
using them on these complete and utter oxygen thieves??

What happens when there is a report of similar clothing/bike in the area? I have very negative experiences of that scenario, and certainly don't need shooters or spikes adding to them.

As for a "controlled release of air" mentioned earlier mentioned earlier, there is (generally) far less air in the tyre leading to a much quicker deflation. You are also lacking a 1 ton metal cage and airbags when your grip does give out as a result of the deflation. I can see the idea being attractive if it's bikelyfe yoof on a quad with no lid and generally giving it a big "fuck you"... but I don't trust 90% of the coppers I know or have had dealings with to reliably distinguish between us having a bit of a laugh, and them being a genuine danger to, well, anything in the vicinity.

My comment was more aimed at twats around the meetups, running when the dibble stick the "Oh shit" lights on. Whipping out guns and letting rip is hugely OTT, this isn't the US.

If someones doing one at speed, waving a shooter around and wearing a balaclava, with fresh in reports of a Jewellers being done over? Probably a safe bet it's not just a bit of a laugh gone too far.

It's all about proportionate response. Tyre spikes are not proportionate, no matter how many braincells the yoof are missing, to dicking around on crossers or quads.
