hmm probably a 2 foot square box full of wedding favour tins from the US..

I remember reading the courier stories on here a while back, some guys used to do drops for the MoD. Bet they carried some weird stuff - but most likely never knew what it was.

Here's the BCF thread with linky to ADV.. https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=297558&highlight=courier+stories

Thumbs Up

I bet that was a pane...
I bet you felt sill-y...
I bet you were shattered afterwards...
If you'd come off it'd have been curtains for you...

5 years ago we didn't have a car, so everything had to be done on motorbike. Including xmas shopping. This meant I had to travel the 17miles home, on the dual carriageway with a hobby horse bungeed to my back. The bag protecting its head slipped down, so there I was, trundling down the A47 with a smiling horse looking forwards over my shoulder. One guy I overtook nearly crashed his car laughing at me.

The only other slightly strange thing I carried was coming back from Ireland on the ferry. I bought two massive toblerones in the gift shop, not giving a thought to transporting them. They were far to big for the tail pack, so I had to wedge them into the soft panniers, leaving them half sticking out pointing backwards. It left my bike looking like I had two large, shiny gold triangular exhausts. They made it home safely.

Not quite what you meant – but this is yesterday’s Facebook status from one of my sons.
“Half way to work and I noticed this little fella hanging on for dear life, so I pulled over before it had a horrible death. Good deed done!”

On the back of the ZZR I've had a boxed little tykes rocking horse (just bulky, no real weight to it

I've also had a ZZR petrol tank on the M60, got overtaken 3 times by the same police car within the space of 8 miles (they kept pulling off at junctions to come back on or pulling left and slowing down)

I assume they were ensuring it was secure.

Bike got called in for warranty work a few miles away from home, so strapped a pushbike to my back (Folding type) and took it with me to cycle home. Was heavier than it looked.

The oddest thing I have carried by bike I think must be a complete 4 foot wing span model airplane., with starter panel and a gallon of glow fuel.
