An RS125 Tuono Mr. Green

I pretty much bought it on a whim - I was looking for a Tuono 1000 Laughing

I bought it with my girlfriend in mind, but to be honest it was such fun on the ride home I suspect I'll keep it for myself!

So far as I'm aware it is currently completely bog standard and restricted, though it indicates 80mph while sitting on the redline going uphill - given they're supposed to touch mid 90's when derestricted I suspect it has been down geared or something?

It's due a new set of piston rings, but I think I'll give it a fresh top end for the sake of a few quid. I'll also be on the lookout for a sports exhaust of some flavour, at which point I'll plug in the RAVE controller and snip the CDI limiter to unleash the full 28bhp - happy days!

Spunk.

Or perhaps gumption, I get them mixed up.

That does look like a laugh, your impulse is commendable. Thumbs Up

The seller was an enthusiastic scrubber.

My bikes very very rarely see a sponge!

Hi

Looks good.

The speedo is one of the most highly tuned parts of the bike. Just view it as there for comedy value. But if red lining at 80 it will have been down geared a fair bit, and if restricted it probably wouldn't be usefully going beyond about 8000rpm.

The cdi mod does nothing to change peak power. It removes a large flat spot between 4750rpm and 6000rpm caused by a massive amount of ignition retard, but doesn't do a thing outside that rev range. Good chance it has already been done.

All the best

Katy

I had a little look this afternoon since the sun was out - I think it might be at full power already.

The RAVE controller is plugged in, there is a powervalve installed, and the servo pulls the cable when the throttle is opened.

I'm unsure about the exhaust - I'm not sure how to identify a pre-catalytic converter exhaust?

Oh also it's got a 14T front sprocket on it - standard is 17 apparently. That explains it bumping off the limiter!

Not quite, I was looking up "Aprilia Tuono" on eBay and stumbled upon the 125 advert!

That looks pretty cool. My mate had one many moons ago, getting parts was an absolute joke, but that could've been down to the retards at Planet Bike.
