HI
Just took the forks off my k3 1200 and read in Haynes manual show be able to remove preload cap off so spring comes out but the cap is screwed onto a rod so won't lift out of the way of the spring. There is a lock nut under the preload cap where it screws onto the rod so can i just undo the lock nut.
just checking , thanks for any good advise

Yes wind the damping off to it's softest limit crack the locknut and un-screw the cap. Don't turn the locknut any more than is necessary to allow the cap to un-screw because the length of thread poking through the nut is specified. I don't know what the spec is for the Bandit but for the 'busa it's 11mm.
