Hello All, i'm ineterested in some leathers that are only Produced in America. There are a few people selling them over here but they are asking for way too much.

I know people will say just buy Dainese or Alpinestars or even Rst or whatever, But i've always had Joe Rocket gear and I like the quality and the design.

My understand is that you (the customer) have to pay a fee prior to the purchase of 20% (VAT) and Duties fees of 4%, so if the leathers were £500 to buy you would be charged £120 by customs.

Is this correct? has anyone bought from abroad? i know what size etc i am it's just getting the thing here cost effectively. Any help would be appreicated.

Cheers

You're welcome!

The speedmaster 5.0 suit is £1769.07 on amazon uk. It's 630 USD which is equivalent to £473.26 in America so you probably see where i'm coming from.

Wow!!!...That's fucking expensive!!!....Is there not a Yank company that will send one for less money? ....(I'm not sure how the VAT/tax think works though?)

How funny some people think anything they can't afford or don't like the look of is gay..............they probably still wear Belstaff waxed cotton!! Wink

Exactly what i was thinking so gay, yeah i have been looking for UK distributors and can't find any a bit annoying.

Maybe just go for a Dainese 2 Piece afterall I guess Neutral

I've had Joe Rocket gear in the past. It wasn't great, on a par with Oxford or Merlin.

Odd, the stuff I had, various pairs of gloves was on a par with the top brands and yet priced very cheaply.

It used to be sold by infinity but they stopped, not sure who the importer is these days but Riderz.co.uk out in Wales sell it and the speedmaster 5.0 suit is only £799.

That's true, £799 is very steep but probably due to taxes and duties from importing, Doesn't seem worth it to be honest
