As on TV last night. Did it work for you? The critics totally slagged it off, personally I though it was a good effort and genuinely funny.

Thought the AYBS was weak and the guy doing John Imnam got it wrong giving a caraciture of Mr Humphries. Inman was more subtle (never thought anyone could say that about him).

Mrs Slocombe's pussy was overworked throughout the episode.

Thought Lee Nelson was good in the Porridge reboot and while I wish I could say it was rubbish out of loyalty to Ronnie (RIP) it wasn't bad.

For me neither really worked Neutral

I guess that`s testament to how good the originals were?
I think that Open All Hours and Porridge were masterpieces.
I cant not say the original AYBS was good because it was, just not my cup of tea, even the first time around.

It was crap.

Mr.Granger nailed it.

Slocombe so-so

The rest poor.

The innuendo didn't work. Wrong side of smutty/scatalogical

Julian and Sandy speaking Polari on r4 repeats, is proper innuendo, AYBS was always a little crass, but this just did not work

Quite liked Porridge afterwards.

Best BBC "reboot" has been Hancock's Half Hour, lost episodes original script, new actors. Worked well imo

Only part of Porridge I laughed at was in the Governors Office, the password, and the screw turning round with his ears covered so he wouldn't know the password.

AYBS was too OTT

Porridge would have been quite good if you'd not seen the original but it just wasn't Ronnie B

Kevin Bishop. He's quite good. Lee Nelson in prison would have been like, well, prison.

I have to say parts of Goodnight Sweetheart were funny, even better with a pretty much original cast imo,

Obviously I understand some are dead and couldn't play their old roles in these shows.
