Curious (yes, my life is that empty) about who snoozes their alarm clock in the morning, and how often you end up beating it.

I have never been a morning person, to put it mildly, but can get myself out of bed at any time if I need to. I can't vouch for my following mood, but I'll be mobile.

However, lately I have an annoying combination of shit bed, shit sleep and nothing desperately urgent to wake up for... and a couple of other issues.

And the alarm is pretty much redundant these days. It goes off every day at an optimistic but not unfair time.

I get out of bet several hours later, having repeatedly snoozed.

Does anyone else find if you just admit you're a lazy shit, set your alarm for a later time, and not snooze it... you get up earlier.

Or is that just me?

Laughing

You know, this was a rollercoaster of emotions.

I saw my thread had been replied to.

I saw it was from you, but I thought "You know, maybe this clown is capable of a sensible reply".

You are not.

I've heard of people pretending to be 12 year old girls to get guys to give them attention, but it is rare to meet a 12 year old boy pretending to be an adult with severe mental deficiencies and a sticky laptop.

Well done, sir.

You are one of the first new things I've seen on the internet in a long time.

A tenner says you work in ASDA, live with a dozen cats and wank in to defrosted chickens.

Quite why anyone would want to wake themselves up more than once is beyond me.

It's also been studied and apparently you feel more awake for the day if you only get woken up once (and get up on alarm).

I'm not a morning person, which is annoying as the break of dawn is such a great time of day.

The best alarm I ever had was a 'day-light' alarm. It turned a light on and played music which gradually got louder.
One of the few things I regret my EX taking...

As for standard bleeping alarms, I hate them and would regularly decide I was awake, turn the alarm off and then have a 30+ minute 'blink' which turned the remaining x minutes into a nightmare rush to get out the door.
Oddly when I travel My mobile has a good 'pleasant' alarm but I rarely use it at home..

I bought one of these in 2010 (on an Amazon Black Friday whim) - it's been the best alarm that I've ever bought - if it ever died I'd have to replace it immediately. I have it set to play birds singing, starting really softly and building up in volume - the light also starts low and grows in intensity (the light is better in the winter, but still useful in the summer)
I find I wake up quite easily using this set-up - without it I'm a repeat-snoozer.

There are free apps that'll do that: try "Light Alarm Clock".

I have upgraded myself with a preternatural time sense and usually wake a minute or so before the alarm is set to go off, so it's largely moot.

I snooze three times but usually lie and read a book for a while after the first one goes off.

In the winter when it's dark, I put the light on at the first alarm and doze off again. The second one wakes me up properly. I can't wake up properly in the dark.

I set three alarms at 15 minute intervals, but get kicked in the head most mornings by my 2yo son.

This is what I do. Every now and then I don't doze off again, get in the shower and my 2nd alarm wakes the rest of the house! Laughing

But on the weekend... think I can stay asleep passed 6am? Can I fuck. My bladder or bowels always make sure I have to get out of bed too.

My 2yo saves his morning wake-up yelling for weekends, usually an hour before I'd like to be up.

I use a radio with a clock on it, listening to the BBC local news is better than BEEP, but not much admittedly. The snooze button is covered with engrained dirt and dust, as it isn't touched.

Also the news stories help to get me out of bed - the Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie situation had me fraught this morning.

I'm the oopposite

If I need to get up I set an alarm for that time just in case but always get up ten minutes before it goes off
Doesn't matter if it's 8 o clock or three o clock in the morning I still wake up ten minutes earlier

This.

Although if I've had to set the alarm particularly early I find that I don't sleep very well, in anticipation of an early alarm.

I have two alarms 15 minutes apart, both play music. I sometimes snooze the second one once. I vary the music, but it's always something that starts quietly and builds.

I hate getting up and will continually press snooze if given the chance.

So I put the alarm out of reach so that I HAVE to get up to turn it off Sad .

In what turned out to be vain attempt to get my teenage daughter up in the mornings, I bought an alarm clock which launched a gyroscope thingy across the room and could only be silenced by getting out of bed, retrieving the missile and placing it back onto the clock.

So, I thought, no snoozing for her.....ha!

On day 2 as I made breakfast, I saw both parts fly past the kitchen window fro the bedroom above and smash onto the patio.

Some people just gotta snooze.

Mines is 05:00 jump out immediately at about 05:20-ish Snooze every 8 mins.

I love snooze. Unless the noise is annoying.

I spent some time (No pun) looking for a good alarm. I have two of these one for work and one for travel to work.

Oregon Scientific RM822 Radio Controlled Travel Alarm Clock

The noise increases in volume as you ignore it. I've never not heard it and I can sleep like a log.

(The radio control never works where I work though. Sad )

I set the alarm for the time I need to get up, I don't like being woken up any earlier then I have to. I do normally wake up a few mins before the alarm goes off.

I actually wake up a lot of the time panicking that I've slept in and I'll be late for work, think this comes from school days.

My 16 month old daughter wakes up at 6am on the dot every day regardless of how well (or not) she's slept.

Unfortunately has no snooze option.

Watching sun rises is nice though.

This whole "snooze" thing baffles me. Come the zombie apocalypse, we'll see how well it works out for you slugabeds.
