Anyone ever fitted a delkevic 350mm or 450mm exhaust to an SV650? Was it worth it? Thinking of changing the exhaust to something that'll make that nice popping sound coming down the gears but don't want something that's ridiculously loud to the point its annoying on long journeys. Any thoughts?

I've got a Beowulf on mine, same thing as Delkevic basically innit. It's a 450mm and hasn't got a baffle (bought it like that lol). It pops all day long and although it is loud and gets you heard, you can get away with it too as it's a long sleeve length. I couldn't do without it, it's fun. Will be replacing it though with a 300mm SP Engineering XLS.

i think a may have posted a review of delkvic before.
but heres another go.
ive not fitted any can to an sv, as they are a girls bike;)
however i did fit one to an fz1(old mans bike)
the link pipe needed modification to make it fit so the can lined up with the bike.
it had a removable baffle, that when removed made the noise stupidly loud.
baffle in it just made it sound a little louder and a bit deeper in tone.
because they are really at the cheap end of stuff i wasnt expecting it to be great quality,it wasnt.

tldr. not as good as you want but better than expected.

Pigeon has a Delkevic on his SV. Even with the Baffle it sounds quite nice.

I don't know if it has made any noticeable changes in power delivery, but he may be along to let you know how many shims in the rear shock it takes to improve motorway mpg... Or something like that.

I have the 200mm Stubby Delkevic on my CBR and it's loud as fuck. And I'm probably losing a couple of horse powers. But whatever. It makes noise.
One thing i'll note is that the "Stainless" headers do gather a but of rust on the welds. But for £350 for a full system, i'm not going to bitch and moan.

Me and a mate just installed a full system on my VFR last weekend. Have to say the instructions weren't great, but we managed it eventually. Access around some bits of the VFR centrestand and the age of my bike, coupled with the crud on my bike, meant it probably took a bit longer than it should have, but the end result is excellent.

Haroman666 is an actual engineer, dude knows his cable ties from his gaffa tape!

I had the 225mm for 6 months and in that time, near misses on the road went from 2 a week to 1 in 6months or something like that.
Out in the boonies at full chat, it was brilliant. Sounded Ducati'esque.
But I couldn't stand it anywere else. It's just too loud.

So got the 350mm version instead. Doesn't sound quite as throaty, but its much nicer to live with. Happily ride without earplugs.
Still sounds fairly good and crackles, pops + bangs on the overrun like a Spitfire coming into land. Again, not as much as the 225, but still good. Also prefer how it looks too.

Baffles in because too much of a ballache to chop/change as the can has to come off the bike first.

As to power difference. Can't tell. Slow before, slow after.

Thanks everyone for your help 😀 I think im going to have to give it a try and fit one. If you decide to go back to the original is there an easy way of doing since you've got to cut the exhast ?

Lolwut?

The can and link pipe just bolts in place of the original no??

Or is the entire system a one-piece?

The only bike i've ever seen a one-piece system on is my old Bandit 400.

I bought a Fuel exhaust for my NTV 650 (Revere) last spring. Pretty great quality and the welds on the link pipe seems good. Removable baffle did make a big difference in noise level, rode most of the time without it - lots of pops on the overrun and deep/throaty note under acceleration. British made too!

It's a one piece, you've got to chop the original end can off to fit the link pipe.

You can get collars that you clamp over the cut if you want to reattach your stock can.

My experience with delkvic on my divvy was the inner walls on the silencer rotted out and made it nice and loud in the end, just had to wait for it to rot and parts fall out of the silencer.

Got a scorpion on my SV, does give satisfying loud pops with/without baffle when going down gears.

Silencer on ze divvy, had 2 internal pipes with pretty crap welds that just rotted then rattled inside the can, had to get it cut and welded back up as the rattle was so annoying.

Not for an SV ,but another v twin...

My friend had shortened Akra's on his RSVR, sounded the nuts and popped when off the throttle, only issue was lack of back pressure when still and occasionally stalls.
