The amount of windows laptops I have fixed for People I don't know but many and my stuff still work.

the problem often isn't the OS, or the hardware, it the dumb a$$es who use them

In this specific case it seems rather appropriate.

The only rational explanation is that you bought it during a fit. Basically, you have a purchasing variant of Tourettes.

It's pretty obvious that all of the comments there are jokes.

The ones I heard about for iPhone:
Using a microwave to charge them and an app that makes them waterproof.



But it seems there was something going around that if you wanted to see a classic Macintosh theme you only had to set the date back to 01/01/1970... which because of a bug would brick the phone.

Also there was an app that lets you bend your phone up to 6° Rolling Eyes

I run a 9 years old Q6600 desktop and still play the latest games. If you have a 10 years old computer from Apple, then you do not run the Apple OS on it or you are a very easily pleased customer.

EDIT: Everything in my PC case is 9 years old, even the PSU. The only thing I changed 5 years ago is the GPU, as I was short on cash when I was building it.

I'm quite happy with 1080p medium settings, at 30fps. Which I get in 95% of the latest games. I mean, I paid about £480, 8-9 years ago to build a PC, that even today can handle games quite well. How many PCs and consoles an avg. player buys in that time span?

Mind you, a 9 year old Mac, using the Apple OS can't even handle a youbook video. Rolling Eyes

I've had both apple iphone and android (Samsung mostly) and I found the iphone to just work better. You can't do as much stuff with them but I just want it for pics, calls, txt and internet. Kept having issues with Galaxy S2, S3 and S4's.

I'm not an apple fanboi who get's the latest and greatest, currently using an iphone 5.

Well, let's see, the first GPU was in those £480 and the second one was purchased for about £110. Being, by your means, £590 (although I sold the first GPU for £60, so we are talking about £530).

Before you start to play the numbers game, I did not count in a LCD screen, keyboard and mouse, as I use those from the previous computer I had. Well, I had to buy a new LCD screen, as the old one, anyway, £530, total. Well, I got an SSD last year, let's add £50 to it.

TL; DR
Fallout IV (+dlcs) - 1080p, Medium settings, 30+fps
GTA V - 720p (not enough graphics memory to run 1080p in DX11), Medium settings, 25-30fps.
WarThunder - 1080p, High settings, very solid 45+fps
Rise of Tomb Raider - 1080p, Medium settings, very solid 40fps.

and so on. There are not many games, that I wouldn't be able to play, yet there are some. I admit, that about 5% of games I tried wouldn't work because of the HW I'm running.

I paid 127 quid for a graphics card last year.
Plays everything i chuck at it, using medium settings.

Before that I used a gtx560ti for 5years, which cost under 150.

Well I made 3 purchases in 2012, an android phone, an android tablet and an iPhone. The android phone's dead, the tablet runs like a 486, and the software's so clunky at even doing simple stuff (launching a youtube vid' for example). The iPhone still works fine, despite being on 24/7, is still supported and does everything with a refinement you don't get with android.

I'm not a fanboy I own one apple product Smile, my only beef's having to use itunes, which isn't an issue if you jailbreak your device.

Top end you do, particularly with VR. I'm using a GTX580 but I don't run anything particularly demanding, the guys running racing games at full settings, triple screens wanting 100fps need good GPU's and upgrade often.

I have a MacBook Pro, iPhone SE, iPad Pro 13", Apple Pencil, iPod Nano.

I wouldn't recommend people buy them if they're just after a smartphone, or a generic tablet. Or recommend [s]OSX[/s] macOS unless they know what they're getting into with compatibility issues.

I still like the stuff, I like how the devices sync with each. I like iOS and macOS. Most of all I like the build quality.

Still, after all that. If somebody said, "I want a new PC, should I buy an iMac?" my answer would be no.
