Hi, my 50cc Lifan LF50QT-2A 2 Stroke seems to cut out when I reach 35mph or above, this only happens at full throttle, until I back of the throttle till about half way or even 1/4 throttle the engine will return to a smooth cruise.

I have upgraded the exhaust, the pipe is clear.
I have jetted the carb up to an 86.
However I still have the stock airbox. Could this problem to down to lack of air or to much air? Or too much petrol or too little petrol?

Thank you!

I thought that a moped could only legally do 28 mph.

17 year old driving a 50cc above 28mph? Don't recall a limit for a 17 year old.

I take it you have notified your insurance company and DVLA of the change of status of the vehicle to motorcycle from moped so that they can ensure that they charge you the correct amount for your insurance and road fund licence?

Done it. All I am doing now is tuning something that is already upgraded and has been DVLA / Insurance notified.

Why the hell are you bothering. Your just making something with no discernable power have almost no discernable power at the expense of the minimal reliability it had.

You could just get a 125.

It's easy for you to say "Get a 125". You're not a 17 year old stuck with a 50cc moped. So if you're not going to help me out, I ask you politely to leave.

So instead you are throwing money at the 50cc? Why not sell 50cc and buy 125 from 50 cc moneys and tuning moneys?

You've already stated that the 50cc is tuned so that's clearly not what you are doing.
