Pikeys have been again. This time they got their catch. This just happened half hour ago.. Details below. Please keep an eye out if you're around the area.

Bike: 2006 GSXR 600, GJ56 CYV - black and grey with black Micron exhaust.

Pikey van: Silver Transit, CP59 MEU (probably false plate)

Taken from N22 area. Lifted into back of van by two men, one was definitely black didn't see the other. Van should have a dent on back left door from my baseball bat.

Update: police have found the van which was reported stolen few hours earlier. They're unable to get into the back so will recover to depo and check there. Unlikely bike is still in the van but there's some hope.

Well done on batting and taking details. Shame you never got to bat one of the thieving bastards.

Two disc locks on front wheel, Oxford Screamer and Abus Victory. 16mm chain through back wheel looped around swing arm but not chained to anything as no street furniture close by.

The alarm went off and by the time I got to the front door the last pikey was hopping into the van and sliding the door shut. Took the bat to back of the van as it drove off.

I know mate I was pumped for a proper takedown. Took me ages to ride out the adrenaline. Almost had to go for a run as started getting the shakes!

Hope your bike is still inside, and you don't get a bill for the damage to the doors. Fingers crossed Thumbs Up

Sorry to hear that mate. I've just moved out of N22 down to Kent. I used to live in N22 (Bowes Park / Wood Green) and I used to park my bike outside the house all the time and was always wary about some scum nicking it. The road around the corner (Myddleton Road) was always having cars being broken into and bits stolen off them. Mind you, it wasn't as bad as Noel Park and the estates round there.
Hope you get the bike back and the old bill don't arse rape you too much for "storing" the bike.

Ooh fuck me, that's only about 5 miles from me.

IIRC that van-man who lifted my cover at 1am was in a silver transit.

Anyway, hope the thieves get raped by a spikey dildo the fat wankers and hope you get your bike back.

I'm local, about a mile or two away (depending where OP is).

Funny my dad (who grew up in Wood Green) recently said wouldn't you rather live there, and I said no Smile Not a nice part of town.

Anyhoo hopefully they got spooked and dump the van (with the bike inside). Sounds like a decent response from the police? Must be torture not knowing if it's in there Neutral

Used to be able to open up a transit with no more than a hacksaw blade. Maybe Ford have fixed that particular security flaw.

Have you got a pic of the bike?

Just out of interest, did you put clothes on before you went out with a baseball bat?

Naked rage is 100% more effective than clothed rage.

Yep Wood Green isn't what it used to be (been living in and around North London my whole life) and yes there was an attempt on my previous bike last year which is when I stashed it away in my mates garage for a couple months.

Spoke to police again this morning. No bike in the van they recovered. They've handed it over to forensics now.

Called insurance and logged the theft. Have to call back tomorrow am to speak to the underwriters who will take full details and start the process of ripping me off.

I was wearing just my shorts when I ran out. Don't even remember grabbing the bat. Just remember seeing the sliding door shut and I just started swinging at the van like a semi-naked madman!!

Feck all help but I wouldn't count on the old bill to do much. Keep an eye on gumtree and eBay for parts. It seems a bit much effort for a simple joyride and burn.

Yep agree. Last time they were just some pikeys on scooters looking for an easy take. This time they came with a van ready with mattress in the back to dump the bike onto.

The more I think about it (it's awfully hard not to) the more it dawns on me that this was a planned theft. Then I think I'm glad they just took the bike and didn't break into my House for the keys or anything. With the littlen's around for me it could have been a lot worse.

That just happened to someone else on here. Robbed at knifepoint while their house was turned over. Shocked
