Well, new to them atleast...

https://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/new-bikes/2016/october/intermot-all-new-2017-suzuki-gsx-r125-unleashed/

Will it ever get rated as top super sports in the monthly rankings?

Certainly looks nice, and cheaper than a YZF eh?

Looks identical to the CBR125 just with Suzuki branding.

At least they're offering an alternative to the 125 market now.

My immediate impression as well. It's not unpleasant, it just looks like we've seen it before.

Well, it's a Gixxer, and long, long overdue for Suzuki.

ABS rather than combined brakes, so not totally prolespec.

Power-to-weight and torque-to-weight is an interesting way of pitching it. The YZF-R125 is 11kw and 142kg. I guess they might try and claim that something like 10.5kw and 130kg is more betterer, but that's ignoring the rider weight.

Gopping. But then I could never get on with all the weird angled styling of modern stuff so maybe I'm just an old fart before my time. All that talk of power to weight ratios will no doubt have teenagers queuing up to spend their folks hard earned dollar, but it's all a bit silly when you look at the cycle parts nailed on it and the fact that it's in a power limited class anyway.

I bet my '86 GS 125 would knock the pants off it in a drag race. If it were ROAD RASH RULES!!!!

Well who'd have thought it, Suzuki finally taking the 125cc class seriously and no doubt thinking let's have some of Yamaha's cleaning up in the learner class cash.

Ok it's not cutting edge, but in a 15bhp limited class having the best all rounder, that's efficient, fun and cheap to run is what it's more about. Hence the CBR still does well sales wise great all rounder etc.

Hell maybe we'll even see some 15bhp Kawasaki race bikes soon now?

I agree with the above posts though, give me even a GP125 with a bikini fairing and ace bars instead any day for a faster better smelling ride. Let alone a GT125 or Rg Gamma!

Looks tidy, reckon it will sway some potential Lexmoto XTR / Daelim sportsbike buyers (where the real money is right now with 125s IMO).
