And I get pulled over? Lets say the bike exceeds noise limits, am I getting a warning and I can go home and put in my baffle or is my bike getting impounded because essentially at that point it's not street legal? I am currently riding with my baffle in, but my inline 4 sounds so much nicer to my own ear without the baffle |

Leave the baffle under the seat with the appropriate tools to fit it at the road side if required.
I'm not sure what the penalty is probably a lecture on safety and possibly a fixed penalty if he/she is in an oppressive mood which they would have to be in the first place for pulling you. |

What should happen is a rectification notice with or without a fixed penalty.
What will probably happen is a section 59 order (or ASBO if you're in Scotland) despite there having to be a componant of causing fear, alarm or distress. Then next time you're caught doing anything the police don't like (such as being in posession of a face they don't like the look of), they'll seize your bike. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. Where a constable in uniform has reasonable grounds for believing that a motor vehicle is being used on any occasion in a manner which is causing, or is likely to cause, alarm, distress or annoyance to members of the public [steeee-rike].
That's vague enough to cover filtering, early morning "warming up", or just being generally awesome. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
