Advice require for Piaggio MP3 400 cc 2009

hi all,
I hope to get some info on this matter, I recently bought a second hand MP3 400 cc scooter, it was a great deal in price and condition. Two days ago as I was riding a bus which was trying to overtake other bus turned without seeing me, long story short, I fell from my scooter and the right hand side go lightly damaged: guard broken, the fairing has a small crack, the brake lever bent, the black plastic that is under the cockpit has a small break which requires to be changed and other minor scratches. I went today to obtain a quote for the insurance in the dealership, the staff told me the cost will most properly turn out a write off, as this scooter structure makes long hours of labor to dismantle it. He also mentioned that he disliked this scooter because of the 2 front wheel technology and said that it is a high maintenance scooter, the front wheel parings, will be damaged from regular use and it is very costly to change, the scooter requires that to change the brakes frequently. In summary, I am convinced that i might made a wrong choice of buying this scooter, although i love it and find it safer than the two wheels scooter (as I used to ride), so I appreciate comments from owners of this type of scooter on their maintenance costs and what other info to help decide whether to let be written off, or just do the minimum to get running and not be written off, but that would decrease its re-sell value. I am surprised about all these comments. Not a single one which had any benefit or positive feed back. Do you guys have a life? or just sitting on the computer trying to be GODS. You are not. As i said, any life form with a bit of intelligence would have understood what I wrote and knows that there was a word missing (and) from the context of the paragraph. Poor me, writing to people who are GODS and never ever made a mistake. Wake up people this is not a legal document. Just concentrate on the issue. As I wrote before, I think faster than I type, which seems an ability none of you guys have at all.
I asked a question and I would appreciate the response from someone who owns a scooter like mine that can give me some information.
Go find a life and do something useful.
I searched google and it directed me to this forum, that is why I posted it here.

If the insurance want to write it off, and you're not happy about that, how about scouring eBay or breakers for the parts you need and fixing it yourself. Maybe it is labour intensive to get it apart but I bet it's not too difficult to do.

But it is a bit of a weird exotic machine so it was probably a bad choice if you want something that can be fixed on the cheap.

I'd be tempted to Write it off and put it down to experience.

I reckon the garage told you the truth
Overly complex front end which when parts start to wear could be
a sod to control and costly to put right.
Plastic panel damage is often the cause of write offs
You could just rat it.
Its gimmicky thing though, unless your disabled I'd flog it and get a proper bike/scoot or car/bus
