I have 2004 CBF600NA4. When I pull the front brake lever, the lever keeps pulsating even at very very low speed. Is this normal the ABS working or something is wrong with my brake disks? I am just worry maybe one of my disks is wrapped...hope not! Thanks in advance for your help

I've ridden a CBF with ABS and didn't feel any pulsing in the brakes - it was pretty smooth. Sounds like you have an issue, sorry.

In a car that would be a symptom of a failed ABS reluctor ring.

No warning lights because the abs system thinks that your wheel is locking - ie the abs is working correctly, just on the basis of false inputs.

I'd look at the ring for corrosion and.or a crack.

If this was a non-ABS bike, I would be looking for either a warped disc, or corrosion on the wheel under the disc, pushing the disc out of true. Could also be a very gunked up caliper, they behave oddly when they can't move around.

ABS feels more like a rapid judder than a pulse, so the ABS could be a bit of a red herring.

Strip and clean the calipers properly to start with. If the problem remains, remove the disc and look for any corrosion where it touches the wheel. Sand down any corrosion until you get to bright, clean metal. Check the disc for flatness while it is off the bike - lay it on a sheet of glass, slide feeler gauges under the edge, check your measurements against the haynes manual.

I have had ABS bikes with the same issue, either knackered disc, knackered caliper but bugger all to do with the ABS.

i was having a smurf on google to see if it was possible to un-warp a disk.

a coupel of websites are suggesting that a cast iron brake disks do not warp and if there is an uneven surface to the disk its due to bad wear/pads.

these same sites are all offering to skim the disks at a cost.

sales ploy or any truth to it ?
