I personally think the ZZR 400 and 600 are good bikes for that. A lot of people probably disagree with me, as they are not "supersport" bikes, but all rounders.

Wouldn't go buying a bike thats the best restrictable. Buy the bike you want then get it restricted. CB500s seem to be the best bikes to learn on because riding schools seem to use them alot but can you really see yourself gettin your knee down on a CB500?

As far as power goes i dont think theres much to get used to. There is a learning curve. But i think learning how to handle a bike is the hardest thing to get used to. As long as you dont over do it, dosn't take long to get used to it. Aside from the legal reasons cant see much point on restricting a bike.

yeah, CB5/Kawa GPz are good options for DAS/33hp restriction. I know my old GPz had phat loads of torque throughout the revrange, even when restricted. so it felt like i had about 33hp from about 2.5k! but now, fuck! does it fly!
I prefer the GPz option because thay have the monoshock, unlike the CB that has the two either side. so mine's more sporty. see if you can get the older version with the inline-4 and twin disks up front. the newer version is less powerful, doesn't sound as nice (it's a twin) and has a single disk.
I'll keep my eye out in dobles for ya for anything in the 400-600 bargain ilk.
happy hunting!

ps
why'd you do the restricted lisence if you're now gonna do the DAS?

Hi Ad,

Thanks for the info, will look out for you around and about.

In answer to your question, I had already booked the test and wus unable to borrow a big bike for the test. As I'v said B4 Im not giving any more money the DAS schools just to drive a CBR500! I can already handle then well enough!

I think I will just buy a CBR600, runit around for a month, and turn up at test centre wiv a set of L Plates under my jacket !!

CU Soon

The twin came out in 1987 I think, and was in production alongside the 4 cylinder 550 for quite a while. For some markets the GPZ500S came with twin disks at the front.

All the best

er...no, I don't think that you've understood it properly...accelerated access is for people who currently hold a restricted 'A' license, but reach the age of 21 before their 2 year restriction period expires...

For example: if you're 20 and just get a restricted 'A' license, you don't have to wait until you're 22 to ride bigger bikes, you can go for the Accelerated Access...
