Is it possible to completely disable deleting the browsing history? I've disabled it in the options menu (clear history on exit and click to clear), but Ctrl + H still brings up the history and allows it to be deleted.

Why Internet Explorer?

When browsing porn or "looking for the wife's presents" or whatever, go to File > Safety > InPrivate Browsing.
This is the same as Chrome's Incognito mode.

Also download ccleaner and use the cleanup tool if you want to delete all traces of browsing later on for whatever reason. It'll wipe the browser so clean nobody would ever suspect you used it to search midget fetish videos.

I think he's wanting pretty the opposite of that so browsing history can't be deleted.

If that's the case then I'd ignore IE browsing history, let people delete it because that would indicate to you that someone is trying to hide something. If your router / hub keeps a record of what's been accessed then you could use that to see what porn sites your son has been looking at or there must be loads of programs that track browsing history. First one I've found on Google is this and sounds like it does what you're wanting: https://www.surveilstar.com/track-browser-history.html

Ste is right, I want to stop it being deleted.

It's a works computer so I can't install software or anything.

Basically one guard was watching movies all day (using putlocker and a porn advert did come up), another spends the day browsing... and I got a written warning for checking my email and the weather forecast Rolling Eyes

So use your phone and don't use the works computer Laughing

If the company are monitoring what it's being used for, then they know that the other guys are abusing the system. Thumbs Up

You're right. My bad.
If the systems are on a network then the admin should have a log of sites visited elsewhere and the IP of the computer which accessed it.

Don't be that guy. You shouldn't have been checking your e-mail and weather forecast so just accept the slap on the wrist and move on.

Isn't this a bit like getting booked for speeding and saying to the copper 'but that guy over there was popping wheelies"?

No it'd be a bit more like getting done for doing 31 in a 30 zone while ignoring the people doing 70.

It doesn't matter anyway, I found out the truth today.... it was one of the night shift guards that reported the internet use (and every other little thing that he can use to get us in to trouble)

Sounds like you need to take in a pillow case full of bars of soap for the next night shift.
