I've learned it doesn't seem such a big deal in the UK, but is anyone else celebrating Hallowe'en this weekend?

What are ya'll dressing up as?

I've three costumes this year due to various events:
Misty from Pokemon (geek it up!)
Sea hag
The Monopoly man (it's for a boardgame themed party)

I am not 12 years old.

I am an adult. I do not need a commercial (US influenced) excuse to dress in tasteless costumes and drink too much.*

I do that every weekend.

Twisted Evil

* Not the US bit, my influences are more along the lines of mutton/lamb/primark salerail.

My little un has gastric flu. For the first time ever I'll be answering the door to trick or treaters, it's like a scene from the Excorcist in this house at the moment.

My missus insists on placing a pumpkin on the driveway to indicate to others that we are participating in trick or treat. I answer the door some years if I'm in. If the knockers are younger than 12 I'll give them a treat.

Interesting how all these kids are a) Scared of clowns and b) Know that batman fights evil clowns.

Given that the little fuckers shouldn't have seen a film depicting evil clowns. Even The Dark Knight is a 12A.

Parenting fail. Take some responsability.

I'm dressing up as the Punisher it has a vague BCF link.

A couple of years ago I was going to a comic themed birthday party. I thought I'd go as marv from Sin City I needed a big black leather jacket. I found one on ebay for 99p collection only from miles away. Long story short a BCFer Thomp got it for me and posted it down Thumbs Up

Anyway I have a comic theme halloween party tomorrow, being The Punisher involves buying a punisher shirt and using my Marv costume Cool

I should just go out like that it'll scare enough people.

/\/\ This, but I'd say "I'm not 6 years old"

It's got much bigger in the last 20 years, probably because of American TV shows here, but before then it was only for very young kids here, with a few adults using it as an excuse for a party using a few plastic bats as decoration...
I can't remember any pubs doing anything at all for it during the 70s or 80s.

I should add that we do have quite a lot of Guy Fawkes / Fireworks night stuff only a few days later, which has always been big (maybe less so now). But I guess isn't relevant anywhere else...

I have an emergency Roscharche costume, complete with thermochromic morph suit mask if I need one.

Possibly something you'd want to see following you about in the dark even less than a clown?

It was ill thought out because it makes drinking very difficult.

Got a very busy weekend ahead, Halloween is the event of the year for goths and misfits.

And the song does say boys and girls of every age...

We'll be locking the cars and sheds - this is the one night in the year that we bother with this. The rest of the year we can safely leave everything unlocked, There's a local tradition of moving any stuff that's not locked up to random locations. Boats placed in the middle of roundabouts, round bales rolled up against doors, that kind of thing. We're off the beaten track and it's unlikely but you never know. Laughing

Oh and guising was around long before trick and treat Razz

Actually, Halloween is mine and Mrs Grrs anniversary of when we first started dating. 15 years this year. Its
why I'm usually away on holiday at this time of year. 365 days ago I was in Mauritius. We originally hooked up
at a Halloween rock night at Kerrang club in Leicester square. Ahhh, those were the days. Wub
