Hmmm

The BT010 on the back of the FZR attacts nails. I got one in it the first week it was on the bike, but fortunatly it did not go in properly.

Last weekend I found 3 more in it. Thought only one had gone in properly. Took it in to be repaired today and it turns out that 2 have gone in perperly, and they are about 2" apart.

One scrap tyre and another hole in my bank account.

All the best

Keith

Hi

Don't know where they come from. Picked one up in the car as well. Until the past year I have probably only had a single puncture in the last decade.

All the best

Keith

Do you filter much going onto the dirty part of the road?

Hi

Not really, and mainly commute down small back lanes.

2 of the nails were just small tacks (these are the ones that went through) and 2 were fairly hefty ones.

All the best

Keith

I have only ever had 2 nails in my bike's tyres (both occured on the NSR) and they were both within 500 miles of having the new tyre fitted. Thumbs Down

Lucky for me they were both repairable Thumbs Up £20 each isn't too bad.

Any recent building works near you? It seems a little odd to get that many from just random bad luck, it sounds more like a repetitively careless workman dropping nails, tacks and goodness knows what else about.

Keith, any stables nearby?
I went through a run of bad punctures (7 tyres in 5 months) and finally traced it to horses shedding nails as they left the soft ground and came onto the tarmac road. Due to the shoddy workmanship of the farrier they'd started using the shoes were shedding slightly bent nails. Slightly bent = straight into tyre.

Long shot, but sometimes it can be the most suprising things Wink

Hi

Err, I do go past some stables most days, but have been doing the same for several years. Mmm. Have to have a word, as the lady who rides the horses is quite friendly (think she trains horses for people as they are always young, nervous and change regularly) and would probably not take it the wrong way.

All the best

Keith
