Hi
German deaths on the road last year dropped by 11.6%. This was claimed to be a result of "improved car safety features such as air bags and electronic driver aids, better road conditions and new methods of medical treatment". No mention of speed cameras.
The UK gets more and more speed cameras and the number of deaths on our roads has risen for the past couple of years.
All the best

No wonder the UK has higher accidents because no doubt car drivers & bikers spend to much time looking at the speed camera, lines and their speedo causing a sudden reduction to 5mph or more below the road's normal speed limit to avoid being flashed, but not enough attention goes to whats happening ahead or what's happening around you where it really matters for safe travelling.

Hi
The Germans do have more road deaths than us (about 60% more), but then they also have around 40% more population and a very large number of people driving through their country to get elsewhere. They have around 40m cars (think the UK is around 25m) and they drive rather further than we do on average.
There road deaths in a single year have dropped by a higher percentage than the UKs has in the past decade.
All the best
