Hi all. Can anyone recommend a bike alarm or some form of extra security measures that i could put on my Honda 125, recently had it damaged by theives trying to steal it and they caused over a £1000 worth of damage. Any help is much appreciated.

What have you got now?
I have an Almax 1V chain 19mm thick links with squire padlock, movement sensor, garage door sensor and a camera.

I'd get alarmed disc locks and the like rather than an actual bike alarm. In my experience bike alarms are just a pain in bottom.

An angle grinder, as used by thieves cutting your lock, makes a lot more noise than an alarm. In fact it makes a huge racket, and is a much more obvious sign of act of theft in progress. Alarms can sound by mistake, or because of user error, but angle grinders don't cut locks off by mistake. Alerting passive, inane, fearful passers-by that your bike is being stolen isn't a good strategy.

Where would be the best place to get an alarmed disc lock? Thanks for the advice.

I haven't got anything at present as it was in the garage but being a crappy council garage it got broken into and the twats tried but failed with the steering lock but successfully damaged handlebars, throttle n clutch. So thinking of keeping the bike in my garden now hence the question. Thanks for the advice will look at a camera as well.

Loads of suppliers out there, sportsbike shop, infinity motorcycles, J and S etc. Just steer clear of Oxford products which are made of cheese.

With that said, it's about quality and quantity - cutting off lots of stuff is harder than cutting off one or two items. The point still remains though anyone determined and with van will just load it up alarms going off. If you've got a ground anchor option make use of it and buy best quality chain you can.

If it's in a garage then do as much as you can to secure garage door as well. The only problem with that being that anything worth securing shows something worth stealing.

Ground anchor the hell out of it.

As above, forget things that make a noise - chain the crap out of your bike to something that isn't moving anywhere in a hurry. With lots of quality, rated chains and locks.
