After dropping my Bike at a Garage to get the Clutch changed did I ask the Garage for a Loan Bike which they didn't have unfortunately and I therefore called my very first Uber Taxi .
I was waiting in the McDonald Car park and spotted the Uber Taxi driver actually stopping on the Main Road which was a Double Red following multiple Motorists Honking at him .
I was wearing my usual Motorcycle Gear with a famous Hi Viz Vest that makes you look like a Police Officer to keep Cars off your backside .
I then decided to quickly jump inside the Uber Car and said to him "you should not have stopped here and simply just pull into the McDonald Car Park" to which he replied yes I'm sorry I made a mistake .
I then went on to directing him towards my House saying "please carry on straight down this Road and then turning left at the next Roundabout" .
After directing him for a while did he then tell me that wanted to collect his customer ? me now thinking that im new to uber and that maybe they collect multiple customers for one journey to save fuel haha .
I then told him ok no problem you can collect your customer if you wish I don't mind but told him that I had to travel towards the other direction and I told him that it was my first time using an Uber and I was not aware that you collect multiple customers for one journey .
He then looked at me confused and asked me who I was ?
I was confused myself and thought to myself why he would ask me for who I was hmm ?
I then told him my name and he said OK so you are my Customer to which I replied yes why what's the matter ?
He then told me that he thought that I was Police Officer because of the Vest I was wearing and because he had pulled onto the Double Red causing a Havoc.....I was in stitches and literally laughed out loud reassuring him that I was not a Police Man .
He then informed me that he did not turn the trip to start when he collected me and that most of my journey was now therefore Free of charge to which I said no problem at all .
It was a very pleasant experience and I ended up paying just over £4 for a journey that would usually cost me at least twice the amount .
I would very much recommend everyone to get themselves one of these, they are worth every Penny .

Cool story brah.
<vomit>
Bore of jeb-end. Take your recommendation elsewhere.
The vests are nothing new and I wouldn't wear one if you paid me. Plus your deluded if you think they keep cars from being up your arse, cagers couldn't give a fudge about bikers, simple as.
Why would you want to impersonate a copper anyway? Your bike white, white lid, panniers, strips etc?
Think you need to stop listening to sales men in these backstreet bike gear shops. ____________________ The do it all, T̶h̶e̶ ̶b̶r̶o̶k̶e̶n̶ ̶o̶n̶e̶,̶ ̶T̶h̶e̶ ̶b̶i̶g̶ ̶l̶u̶m̶p̶,̶ ̶C̶h̶o̶n̶g̶ ̶N̶o̶o̶d̶l̶e̶ |

The "hating comments", as you put it, were already here in various threads started well before your joined date, it's been done to death!
Had you used the search facility, (which, admittedly, isn't brilliant but does work to a point), you'd have realised that the general consensus here is that wearing that sort of garb marks you out as something of a pillock.
Any "hate" you may be feeling could, so easily, been avoided! ____________________ "Everybody needs money, that's why they call it money!" |

Interesting if it's a sock. My first impression was that it's someone who didn't realise that Polite vests aren't universally liked. My second impression, someone playing a joke on the forum in such a way as to signal that he isn't taking the forum nor bike stuff too seriously. If that's true, then it's sort of understandable.
The wali110 profile was created in Oct 2016 on the SV Rider forum, and posted about the clutch issue around 11th November. If it's a sock, it's a fairly clever idea to establish the id across multiple forums before posting this story. The choice of id reflects that the personality behind it values his community identity above, for example, his choice of bike, or a particular colour. Why? Especially when most people here wouldn't know about it?
The story rendered about the hi-vis jacket is interesting as it involves an unwitting ruse that became profitable, and it cannot be verified as factual. It's more like a parable or, even, a 'tradition', with an underlying purpose. A hidden dialogue of sorts then proceeds. Perhaps someone else here understood but couldn't help but signal his 'hatred' to the OP.
A bit of a shame this has happened, as there are only 3 semi-regular female posters on BCF (who seem to be lovely people, but could just fart and get good karma) and, to my knowledge, only a couple of the OP's type, yet the kid gloves treatment is notoriously absent here while the rarity is even more acute. Giving everyone the benefit of the doubt. ____________________ Safety in numbers

The story, and let's assume it's not factual but 'true' as some kind of allegorical pointer to a hermetic doctrine, appears to represent the power of sigillism. The form, or the pure, concrete and intangible essence of a thing, underlying what can be perceived by the senses. The sigil turns away demons who think it's the Seal of Solomon until they look closer or are told it isn't real. Thus it's doubly powerful: the demons, intrinsically evil, aren't extended the courtesy of knowing their master until it's too late for them. The spell has been cast, and the demon is shamed for its foolishness. In summary, dissimulation is demonstrated as belonging to a higher tier of skillfulness than actually having Solomon's ring.
There are lots of ways to tell this story. For example, at a certain period in history, powerful individuals who commanded wealth, influence and violent force, were seen to wear certain articles of clothing or jewellery. When common, poor people travelled, they sometimes adopted the same accoutrements, without guilt, to scare away thieves. And we might note that Hermes is the god of travellers, as if to close the circle.. ____________________ Safety in numbers |
