You don't want one of those things.

Have you seen all the accidents that happen to/near people with dash cams?

They're obviously very dangerous. Shocked

I realised you just made a grammatical error.

My bad.

Than* is the word you need there. Would have saved me from wondering why you wanted a 1080 then a 720...

I bought one from a Tesco filling station - £30
Very pleased with it
Will do a journey of at least 2+ hours on internal battery

That is needed because I HATE charging wires trailing from the Power socket down by the gear lever to the dashboard area near the window - dashcam, satnav, cellphone on recharge etc. Bloody wires everywhere

Car manufacturers need to put 12V power sockets up front!!

OK, eventually I will run a power lead for the dashcam from the overhead courtesy light up by the mirror . . . but busy, busy to do that yet

Snod

I believe that's the one techmoan uses. Rather than watching endless review videos I'd just buy one of them.

I've had E-PRANCE Mini 0805s in my cars for the last couple of years - they were Techmoan's flavour of the month back then. I've hard wired them at the top of the windscreen - all nice & neat with no trailing wires.

Watch his YT channel to see the current faves.

Techmoan is being helpful for you to find genuine sellers of the things he reviews, rather than being paid to gush about rubbish. Trust him.

Just bought an M6+ for my latest car, for the parking mode, I want to be able to see who dents this one Evil or Very Mad

I'm very keen on getting an M6+ now too (for that very feature) - how do you plan on powering the camera when the car's not moving? Separate power supply (like the [overpriced IMO] cellink b), or just running it from the car's battery?

Colleague got a nextbase 302g for ebay for ~£50 - half of what Halfrauds want. Seems like a pretty good device.

At the moment, I'm running it from the lithium battery booster pack I have (bought when my old automatic BMW had a run of battery draining... the pack is a nice piece of kit, as well as starting the car, it's got 5v USB, 12v and 19v outputs and a torch) while I'm parked in the busy car park at work. The booster pack is doing about 30 hours between charges.

I have also bought the hardwire kit that's linked in the ebay seller's listing which I will eventually wire in behind the dash somewhere, probably on the permanent live to the stereo as it's a very small additional drain... but not until I take all the dash out to fit a decent stereo anyway! The hardwire kit is supposed to have voltage detection, so it should switch the camera off rather than completely drain your battery (and if it doesn't, I've still got the booster pack in the boot Wink ).

Ta - that's good to know - I was looking at low-voltage cut-off adapters, I didn't realise the hardwire kit came with it built in.
The car is used for an hour a day, so I'm not too concerned about the drain, but it'd be nice insurance having the low-voltage cut off.
